You can get pretty good bows (for props) fairly cheap at ren faires. I once saw some bows that had been used as props in LOTR on sale for 10 USD each. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my wallet at home!!

As long as you don't have arrows you should be okay. I dressed up as suzan for the Narnia movies. Bows are really expensive though...I have mine because I actually do archery, I don't think I'd buy one for just a costume.
I'm sure there is something out there on how to make one!!

i've had it since I was like 12!! It used to me my dad's! He got his new one at Bass Pro shop I think. Its as good of a place as any to start I suppose!!

It says in the books that her sleeves stop at the elbow and flared with a white under belly (which didn't photograph sadly...)
But I agree, the sleeve length that just feels odd...

oh, wait, yeah i see the sleeves are shorter here, i think i was seeing the elbow pads. but, so, i was thinking how they don't cover her scar form johanna.

ya...I didn't originally plan to have pads but my friends that actually see combat thought they were need, and who am I to argue with that logic? *shrug*
The white bandage covers the scar (both in the book and in my pictures)
oddly it also cover up a real scar I have!
