Description Made with deviantART muro

This morning I have finished watching every episode of the Mask animated series(with the unfortunate exceptions of To Bee or Not To Bee and The Angels Wanna Wear My Green Mask), so I decided to make a tribute to The Mask by showing a group picture of every recurring villain he has encountered(I only include one-time foes if they were very cool and/or if they made a cameo in another episode).

Dorian Tyrell- The main villain in the live-action film starring Jim Carrey as Stanley Ipkiss and his alter-ego The Mask. He's wearing the mask in the picture simply because it's cooler that way. He may have been killed in the movie, but there were at one point plans to have him appear on the show where he would return from the dead as a ghost in a plot to have revenge against the Mask.

Pretorius- The main antagonist in the animated series, even though he is absent in a lot of episodes, especially in season two. He was a pretty neat villain, what with his disembodied head on a robot body. It was really funny how he often referred to Stanley Ipkiss as Mr. Ip...kiss and would often have a plan that would have an intention different from the obvious, like when he tried to nuke Edge City only so he could use the flash given off to photograph a planet, or when he tried to kidnap Santa so he could study the hammerspace of his sack, rather than to ruin Christmas.

Walter- Pretorius's right-hand man, even though he works alone in a lot of the episodes. He's a pretty cool villain because he is indestructible and silent. I almost laughed my butt off when The Mask made fun of his resemblance to Frankenstein by screwing bolts into his neck, painting his face green, and saying he looked more "alive".

Dr. Amelia Chronos- I liked her because she had an interesting appearance and it was always awesome to use time-related weapons. In her first appearance, she sent Ipkiss forwards in time to a 1984-esque time where she ruled Edge City, then sent him back to the Salem witch trials. In her second appearance, she became one with time itself, but was defeated again when The Mask banished her to a time-loop where she is doomed to have a clock fall on her head endlessly. She made one more appearance, but I unfortunately wasn't able to see that episode, as nobody posted it anywhere.

Gorgonzola- She was an ancient cheese witch imprisoned in a tomb, until her amulet was obtained by Jennifer Peenman, an archaeologist and niece of Stanley's landlady Miss Peenman. Jennifer put the amulet on and transformed into Gorgonzola at night. The Mask managed to defeat the cheese witch and put her back in her prison by tricking her into turning herself into cheese, removing the amulet, and returning it to her tomb.

The Tempest- Real Name Fritz Drizzle. He was a weatherman that got fired and then gained the power to control weather. He then seeked revenge against everyone that scorned him, until The Mask literally caused his plans to go down the drain.

Kablamus the Exploding Man- Real Name Joe Blow. He was a balloon-maker who tried to make a balloon that could not be popped. The result gave him the power to inflate until he exploded, only to re-form so he could explode again. He equipped himself with a belt with capsules to change the effect of his explosion powers. Like all bad guys The Mask fought, he was brought to justice.

Channel Surfer- Real Name Raymond Nielsen. He was a guy that watched too much television that went insane when his favorite show Pointy Peaks was canceled. A pile of television sets fell on him in his tantrum over Pointy Peaks getting canceled, and he emerged from the pile as Channel Surfer. He opted to force all of Edge City to watch the shows he wanted to watch, but was defeated when The Mask shot him into space. He swore revenge, but the closest thing he made to a return was a cameo in the episode with Sir Andrew Bedwetter.

Skillit- An inhabitant of the Shadowland, Skillit is essentially an evil demonic version of Peter Pan. In his first appearance, he used his own shadow to steal everyone's shadows so he could absorb their youth and get stronger. He was beaten when everyone's shadows were restored, his own shadow was sealed away in the Shadowland, and the creepy kid himself was sent to juvenile hall. Around Halloween, he escaped and was reunited with his shadow. To get revenge against the Mask for defeating him(especially for having to do homework while in juvenile hall), Skillit revives Attila the Hun, Blackbeard, and Nimrel(the wizard Merlin after magically transformed into a monster). He was defeated again and forced back into the Shadowland. In his third appearance, he unleashes strange monsters(referred to as "old toys") onto Edge City. He had a book of spells used to open portals to the Shadowland, but The Mask defeated him yet again and took the book with him after using it to bring all of Skillit's toys back to the Shadowland. He then tossed the book away, imprisoning Skillit in the Shadowland permanently(or until they decided to bring him back for another episode, which never happened. Shame too, since he was one of my favorite villains.)

Putty Thing and Fish Guy- Real Names Dak and Eddie. They were a couple of teen slackers that loved comic books and wanted to be superheroes like Insector the Bugman. They planned to do this by getting radioactive and having bugs bite them. They did manage to get radioactive, but they forgot to get a bug with them and collapsed from radiation poisoning. While they were carried away to the hospital, the ambulance accidentally released them. Dak crashed into a putty factory and became a walking pile of putty with shape-changing powers. Eddie, however, crashed into an aquarium and mutated into a pathetic harmless fish that even worse could not swim or breathe underwater. Pretty much all he could do was stink really bad(in both senses).

Cybermite- He appeared in Fantashtick Voyage, one of many Fantastic Voyage parodies I have seen or heard about. In the episode, he was a computer virus that The Mask forced out of the bank computer borrowed by Stanley Ipkiss(funny that The Mask would actually help Stanley for once instead of causing him problems). Anyway, Cybermite got his revenge by infecting Stanley's dog Milo. Ipkiss used The Mask to cure his dog, and succeeded. One reason why I liked Cybermite was because he was a cool villain and he reminds me so much of Psycrow from Earthworm Jim(especially since both are similar in appearance and voiced by Jim Cummings). His episode was pretty funny especially because it featured one of Lieutenant Kelleway's attempts to arrest The Mask only to end up with egg on his face(not to mention his dim-witted assistant Doyle).

Lonnie the Shark and Pete- Another two of my favorite villains. Lonnie had a cool voice and his appearance matched his name: He had a pointy nose, fangs, and his hair was shaped like a shark's fin. His sidekick Pete was funny because of his excuses and he was voiced by Charlie Adler, one of my all-time favorite voice actors.

Phony Frenchman- He was pretty ridiculous. It was funny how The Mask captured him by "borrowing" the Eiffel Tower. His second appearance was a cameo in Sir Andrew Bedwetter's episode. His third and final appearance was in the episode The Angels Wanna Wear My Green Mask, which I haven't been able to see.

The Stinger- Real Name Buzz Stingman. He was a bee farmer that got stung by mutant bees and became a human/bee hybrid with an insatiable appetite for honey. The Mask defeated him by removing his stinger, returning him to normal. His appearance in Convention of Evil infers he somehow changed back to The Stinger.

Davida Steelmine- Real Name Vicky Pratt. She was Stanley Ipkiss's high school crush, but neither of them had the nerve to even speak to one another. She eventually became a magician and turned to crime. The ending of the episode was ambiguous, but I am sure she ended up behind bars with some way of preventing her from using her magic powers.

Sir Andrew Bedwetter- A humorous parody of Andrew Loyd Webber who enraged The Mask when he attempted to make a musical based on his favorite film series Mad Monkey. After The Mask interfered with the show, he had revenge by recruiting past foes of The Mask(Walter, Putty Thing and Fish Guy, Phoney Frenchman, Channel Surfer, and Kablamus) and riding around in a giant robot monkey.

Bub- Better known as The Devil, Satan, Lucifer, and a host of other names. He debuted in the episode Boogie With The Man where Stanley made a deal with him: Bub would help Stanley Ipkiss be a winner without becoming The Mask, but in exchange would go to Hell. He was defeated at the Coco Bongo and forced to be The Mask's butler. I really liked his appearance and voice, as well as all the strong implications he was The Devil and that he was from Hell(BTW, I didn't think the entree they served there was so bad. I can easily think of much worse things to eat for eternity than liver, rice cakes, and lima beans).

To wrap this up, I will explain why I called this art Drives Us Mask. While I was watching the episodes, I noticed a lot of his enemies hated The Mask with a passion(then again, what villains don't hate their enemies so much?) Anyway, it reminded me of the Batman: The Brave and The Bold episode Mayhem of the Music Meister, which featured a song called Drives Us Bats, where all of Batman's enemies sang how the Dark Knight "drives us bats". Bottom line, this is a version with the lyrics being about The Mask and his enemies.

DRIVES US MASK

BEDWETTER: He always has a sidekick, some little doggy at his call. From nowhere he can pull everything! Can't find that at the mall! The Mask-mobile is really fast, there is no car that can surpass, it's a good thing we got asylums, 'cause he really drives us mask!

SKILLIT, KABLAMUS, PUTTY THING, AND FISH GUY: Drives us mask, drives us mask, he really rives us mask, mask, mask! He drives us mask!

BEDWETTER: Whether giving us wedgies, or making us look like fools. He never stops annoying us. He is such a tool! His endless superpowers make me want to shred his hat! It's a good thing we've got asylums, 'cause he really drives us mask!

CHANNEL SURFER, TEMPEST, AND DR. CHRONOS: Drives us mask!

BEDWETTER: Somebody stop him!

CYBERMITE, LONNIE THE SHARK, AND BUB: Drives us mask!

DORIAN TYRELL'S GHOST: Always foiling our schemes!

KABLAMUS, PHONEY FRENCHMAN, AND GORGONZOLA: He really drives us mask, mask, mask! He drives us mask!

PUTTY THING: Even if that dude's just Stanley Ipkiss...

FISH GUY: That dude is tougher than he seems.

PETE: Pretorius often asks...

PRETORIUS: Why does he always ruin my tasks?

ALL VILLAINS: He drives us mask, drives us mask, drives us mask!

MASK: Smokin'!

That's not all.

The Phoney Frenchman shares a voice actor with Evil Eye Weevil as well as the 2006 series villains Ronaldo Rump and Dr. Catorkian.

There's still more connected voice actors.

Jim Cummings voiced Kablamus the Exploding Man on The Mask as well as War Machine of the Dark Star Trio and Lt. Kellaway's incompetent sidekick Doyle.

On the original Biker Mice, Jim Cummings guest starred in the episodes So Life Like and Diet of Worms. In the former, he played Saddle Sore and Deathmaster, who were respectively parodies of Yosemite Sam and Skeletor. In the latter, he played the Plutarkians Gerald Gruyere and Gutama Gouda.

Out of all these guys, Walter is the only one straight from the original MASK comics. Too bad there's no room for Loki from "that s**ty sequel" since he is a bad guy.

I had no intention of putting him in the picture. I haven't seen it, and there is a chance my opinion will differ from others, but when I hear "Loki is a bad guy", I think of Marvel's version of the Norse god Thor.

Fun Fact: Pretorius' appearance is based on Eugene Rapaz from the Dark Horse comics. Interestingly enough, the comic Walter worked for Eugene just like Walter working for Pretorius.

It's sometimes hard to add detail to things with deviantART muro. One day I might learn do make better drawings, but I don't see the point since I get better each picture I make.

The reason I didn't understand you was because of the way you arranged your words. It probably wasn't your fault I didn't understand you, though.
