Made with DeviantArt muroThe other day, I watched the much dreaded crossover between Teen Titans Go and the 2016 Powerpuff Girls series. Some of you may recall that a while back I made a picture of the Powerpuff Girls calling out the fans for assuming the worst from this crossover just because Teen Titans Go and the 2016 PPG show weren't well regarded. I knew and understood why the two shows weren't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm one of the fans who actually likes the new Powerpuff Girls show (and this is coming from a guy who grew up with the original show) and I was optimistic that the episode would be one of Teen Titans Go's better moments.
Having finally seen the crossover, the episode didn't quite meet my expectations, but it was definitely a lot better than everyone thought it would be. For starters, while it's a crossover with the 2016 Powerpuff Girls show, Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, Mojo Jojo, and the Narrator act more like the way they did in the original Powerpuff Girls show. Also, unlike "Let's Get Serious", "The Return of Slade", and "The Fourth Wall", the episode actually acknowledges Teen Titans Go's flaws without insulting the show's detractors.
I will give a short list of pros and cons for the crossover.
PROS
The Powerpuff Girls are completely focused on stopping Mojo Jojo and aren't stalled or impeded by anything (one complaint I've heard about the new show is that the Girls rarely fight crime and often need to be saved themselves. I'd like to point out that at least the Powerpuff Girls actually mean well, while the Teen Titans are just a bunch of self-centered slackers who don't give a rat's tush about the consequences of their actions).
The Narrator has a more active role, when his appearances in the new show tend to be scarce and contributing little aside from scene transitions and whatnot.
Mojo Jojo is back to his competent and redundantly speaking self.
The Teen Titans get called out on their unheroic ways by not only the Powerpuff Girls, but by the Narrator as well.
CONS
While I'm not really that fond of Teen Titans Go, I was disappointed that Robin, Starfire, and Raven spent the episode acting condescending towards the three young heroines and failed to learn their lesson just because Blossom made the mistake of saying "We couldn't have done it without you". I'm hardly an avid viewer of Teen Titans Go, but I was hoping the crossover would have the Powerpuff Girls teach the Titans to clean up their act.
The only other thing I didn't like about the episode was that Cyborg, Beast Boy, Robin, Raven, and Starfire do not get any comeuppance for their actions, hence why I drew this picture of the Powerpuff Girls scolding the Titans after beating the snot out of them.
I actually think the new Powerpuff Girls show is okay so far. My favorite episodes are The Wrinklegruff Gals (the Powerpuff Girls were pretty funny as old ladies), Bubbles of the Opera, Bye Bye Bellum (I'm as annoyed as everyone else that Ms. Bellum was removed from the show, but I'm satisfied that her send-off was dignified), and Viral Spiral (The Amoeba Boys were in it and the sinister nature of Silico may be just what the new show needs to win over the perfectionist complainers. I'm aware the new show has flaws, but the original wasn't exactly the epitome of perfection either).
And before anyone asks, I've also seen the crossover with Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa (I've never watched Uncle Grandpa because my interest was soured after I heard the show made a rather mean-spirited jab towards My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but the crossover with Steven Universe was actually quite funny).
I've also read recently that Cartoon Network is finally acknowledging that having Teen Titans Go air constantly to the detriment of the other shows is only peeving everyone off. With luck, Season 3 may be the show's last.

I understand that these two shows are not everyone's cup of tea, but you went way out of line by saying that I am worse than them for making this picture.

So drawing the Puffs beating up the Titans is alright (especially just to illustrate your distaste for them), but calling you out for it is apparently the only hostile part about this.
Glad we've got out priorities straight.

To be honest, I came up with a plot line for the fourth season in which Bat-Mite takes over as the new leader and makes the Titans as competent as they were in the original series. It's a rough job, but someone has to do it.

I know. I'm just really peeved that the Titans didn't get their just deserts for looking down on the girls just because they were children. In my book, it wasn't enough that the girls and the narrator called them out on their nominal heroism.

((And something tells me that Buttercup just got herself put on Slade's X-mas and Apprentice list for what she did to Robin alone... one would expect that to be done to Damian Wayne's version of robin first before Dick Graysons. ))
