Mickey had just explained that some Disney cartoons were loosely based on actual events, giving The Mad Doctor as an example, explaining that his father, the original Mickey Mouse, once actually did have to rescue his dog Pluto from a mad scientist, the difference being that the actual event wasn't a dream.
Because the psychologist had asked Mickey to explain the circumstances of his birth, he asks Mickey if this means that Mickey's Nightmare was another cartoon loosely based on something that really happened.
Mickey answers in the affirmative, saying that his father was only expecting his mother to give birth to one child, but was in for quite a surprise when he saw that he had fathered 74 babies, not sure whether he should be shocked at how many mouths he has to feed or if he should be proud of how fertile he was.
Mickey also explains that his parents had no trouble raising him and his brothers and sisters because they both came from rich families and had more than enough money to support their kids.
We see a flashback of Mickey Mouse I bottle-feeding one of his children while the original Minnie breastfeeds another. This was the most difficult part of the comic to draw, mainly out of concerns for historical accuracy, since this part is supposed to take place in the 1930's, and I've read some sources saying that back then, infant formula was considered to be superior to breastfeeding and that breastfeeding was only done by destitute mothers who couldn't afford to give birth in a hospital. I went along with it anyway because I've found some evidence that not everyone agreed with that notion back then. There's even a Fleischer cartoon that depicted nursing!
Mickey feels that he's told all he can about his own parents, so he moves on to how he first met the current Minnie. Mickey and Minnie first met in high school. Mortimer and Pete tried to take Minnie from Mickey, but he was able to put Mortimer in his place and he got Pete off his back by hooking him up with Peg.
