Yes, this is watercolor. I used a small brush for the white hair

Oh, well actually I meant did you use acrylic paint do do the white strands? (because watercolour is not white) Or did you just leave white spaces from the paper?

Some of the white (and low opacity) lines are done using masking fluid (leaving the paper white) and the white lines are done using white gouache paint.

Wow, beautiful work on this painting. I love the woman's hair swirling in the background and all the extra detail around her and the flowers. Just beautiful. Wish I could get more interesting detail like this in my paintings. Great work and instant fav

Wow, I love the eyes and the eyelashes. They're gorgeous. I also like the fact that there's no lineart, it makes the pic so smooth .. gorgeous!

This is my fav piece of your work bar none! I love it. The hair is brilliant. The colours are feminine and wonderful. Her expression and the eyes are really fantastic. I wouldn't be able to say enough wonderful things about this piece. All that AND this is a traditional painting. Wow. I admire anybody who can create traditional works to this calibre.

A question. Im going to start watercolors myself, your recent tutorial was very inspiring and informative. But with a peice like this, did you use pencil or ink at all? I can't tell how you kept track of shapes I can't see any lines at all. Very seemless

Remember in this tutorial: [link]
In step 3 I mentioned about inking, this pic is what you'd get if you watercolor straight on the pencil lines without inking

Ahh I see I see. I needed clearing up becuase I saw the other tutorial with anime faces I think it was in pencil and you could see it after.
Thanks for the help! Very helpfull and really has helped me to not think as watercoloring as duanting as I thought it was.
