The swirling colours and the extreme pose of the girl (as well as her intense expression) convey action and urgency, and I love how you have her literally escaping from the frame by leaping beyond the edge of the painted area. I suppose the theme of escape appeals to me as well, since I seem to spend inordinate amounts of time thinking about it. ^_^ A beautiful composition.

For some reason this image makes me think of the ballet 'Giselle'. Not entirely sure why,but it just strikes that cord...

Alas, I've seen very few ballets (only once on tv, I was mesmerized! The girls look like they're made of air!). I hope I'll have the oppurtunity to see more, ballerinas are such an inspiration.

I loved ballet so much as a kid I had a book of ballet stories, which is really unusal since I was quite a tomboy.

As for people's beef with the anatomy, bah. CLAMP gets away with proportions of DOOM, and yours are so much better!

OH I forgot to ask, was some of the light digitally enhanced in this image? I am not nitpicking, mostly because I do digital all the time, but I thought I saw different kinds of brush strokes in the image.

i like the concept ALOT. the only beef i have is with the arms they kind of look like you used a barbie for refrence..... because in real life that would just hurt.

I used photoshop only for cropping and organizing the layers

You can try scanning it more than once and put it together using some image program.

de colors r relly nice...de shiny sparkly stuff an de clouds make it look so mystical..but i have to say de head position is a bit wierd..makes me wonder if dats de bak of de body or front..an i think de wings shud b higher..

She is so beautiful, simplistic but still so life-like n_n
It seems to me she is escaping from a colorful world, which might be a little chaotic from time to time, to a world of simplicity and perfection xD
