Description
For school, the topic was book cover. I chose Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.I was halfway through the first painting when the file got corrupted and everything was lost, somehow from that frustration I went turbo and redid this new one in about a day.
Anyway the format sorta works as a wallpaper too, so enjoy!

The colours and patterns are breath taking Is it possible to get a large wallpaper of this? like 1200 x1800? or smaller? I'd hate to make it all pixelated
It's just so beautiful.

Do you have any idea how much I LOVE that book? I read it many years ago before they came out with the movie. I was actually really disappointed with the film...they left a lot of things out, though I suppose if you were to just watch it without preconceptions, it was pretty good. This would have been a fantastic cover!

Its a good book XD I can't decide which I like better though, the book or the film. The book has much more interesting facts and details in it, but he movie is straight to the point and very pretty XD.

by the way, if you would share with me the technique/brush(es) that did the watery drippy paint look, I would be SOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo grateful. D:

Gorgeous as always. Is this entirely CG?
I really like the cranes, and the flower (ornament?) in her hair.

I thought I could tell by some of the patterns. How long have you been mixing medias like that? I don't think I could manage to make the CG and watercolor together look that seamless ._. And you're welcome!

Damn, this is really frikkin awesome! Looks just like Zhang Ziyi. Loved the book, hated the movie, though. Anyway, the modern, yet traditional oriental style you have going on here is so nice. The cranes, rising sun, and flowers are awesome decorations against the vibrant red and the patterns.

Thanks dude XD I'm not particularly fond of the book, but the movie is pretty (just don't follow the plot or anything).
