Description
For school, the topic was book cover. I chose Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.I was halfway through the first painting when the file got corrupted and everything was lost, somehow from that frustration I went turbo and redid this new one in about a day.
Anyway the format sorta works as a wallpaper too, so enjoy!

Yeah, the movie was so pretty to watch. And Ken Watanabe is the epitome of cool. (Well, out of Japanese actors who play in American movies).
Which Intuos do you have again? I'm thinking about getting a new tablet, but I really want the medium sized blue Bamboo... Though I should get an Intuos... I dunno.

Oh, and I use a intuos 3. It's not bad, I haven't tried a Bamboo before but I heard good things about it. Plus, they're pretty 8D

XD I have a Graphire. It's ghetto. And I already have tried the Bamboo at the Apple Store in Ginza, Tokyo. IT WAS SO AWESOME. I love the Apple Store there. It was like... I don't even know how to compare it. Anyway, yeah, I think I'm sold on the Bamboo.

XDD Yeahh its a pretty movie. The whole story can be abit silly though, even in the book. It's like oh noooo geishas are not prostitutes at all blablabla then in the movie and book its all sex 9_9 Geez.

Wow... I saw this in my thumbnails and didn't even recognize it to be one of your works. I'm sorry about the file corruption. But how did you have the motivation to continue? And even go turbo? That's amazing! I'd get so discourage and like go cry in a corner somewhere or something...
This is just beautiful. Definately better than that silly white face and eyes thing they had for the movie/book? (I can't remember which it was for). I love the detail of the flowers and the cranes. Also this definately feels Japanese, and not of another asian culture. I don't like it when people starts mistaking like Chinese for Japanese or vice versa. The sun (on what I assume is the backcover?) is a nice touch. All the small details swirls, waves, flowers, petals flying dripping water color effect... adds so much to it. I can't say enough about this picture. It is so beautiful! This would be a great cover for the book (though I haven't read it 
It's also really cool to see something that's not anime-y. (But I do love your anime shoujo girls!!!

Yeahhh I was very upset when the file was corrupted, you can ask *kuroitora , I was whining all over. But then I convinced myself that the previous painting sucked and I could do a better new one that could kick the previous one's ass.
And thanks, I'm glad you think this is very Japanese. I don't like it either when people mix the two up (my painting Butterfly Lovers had so many people asking about her 'kimono' 9_9).
And yeah, I'm kinda steering away from the anime shoujo girls. I would do somemore of course (it makes money *_*) but definitely not seriously anymore T3T
