I really really like this piece...and my first impression of this was...
"Flying high in life you see the most beautiful and mystic wonders the world has to offer. Yet, if you are lured into falling under the sweet temptation of evil; you may never escape the grasp and fly high again."

My story for this piece? I believe it signifies good news and how some people want to keep good news from traveling to other people just to make the miserable (with the Venus fly traps representing people who live to make others miserable). But of course, I could be totally wrong about that.

She's like a siren of earth instead of water, luring lost travelers in the wood to her with the illusion of being able to help them. When truly, she lies in wait to devour them.

This is just magical!!
I think she lures handsome men with her beauty and then devours them.. like a mantis or a black widow spider. So there's the symbolism of the venus fly trap and the butterflies.

Don't accept her bouquet, don't take her into your home. Sweat and loving she will be, until the moon begins to rise. She will change, her form grotesque, fangs dripping with venom, claws poised to strike.
I like how I didn't notice the Venus Fly Traps until after I wrote that.

well since you said "don't accept her bouquet" , and since she's surrounded by venus fly traps eating those poor unsuspecting butterflies, i see her as just that, probably Queen of the flytraps, and if you accept her bouquet, you'll get caught. And eaten (theoretically or literally, doesn't matter I guess). The look on her face is a very 'come hither' look, which I suppose can fool many a man.
as for the painting itself, it's gorgeous. The green behind her gives her this eerie look that's perfect for the rest of the painting. when I look at the top half, I see a beautiful girl surrounded by butterflies. When I look at the bottom half alone, i see massacre and ribbons of blood.
That's what I get from this painting, a very meaningful one indeed. <3

Did you mean ribbons that's blood colored or.. actual blood flowing like ribbons? Truth be told, the red stripes kind of bother me..

and yes, they bother me too, but it's a good kind of bother, because it unsettles the pic, it disturbs the beauty of the top. i mean the ribbons are blood colored that can be used to represent blood flowing from a massacre. Am I on the right track or should i keep guessing? :0

And awesome.. those are actually ribbons, but I think I'll tone it down.
And there is no right track.. I really prefer it for everyone to have their own story, and I think yours was awesome
