the final page of The Last Thylacine <3
I think most of you didn´t expect to see the last page so soon, but here it is!
We traveled 4-5 years to the future and Ben and Tasha are both grown up One thing that bothers me is that Benjamin doesn´t really look that similar to his "cub-form" however Tasha looks basically the same She is just bigger, taller and more darker (mainly the hair). Ben didn´t change much, but his personality did~ He is now braver and calmer as you can see Not a timid little cub like he was before ;3 He cried like on every single page but don´t worry he is still the same old Ben like before!
I kind of tried to focus more on the shading of the characters on this page, I tried to be more accurate than on most of the pages since it´s the last one.
I left an "open" ending for purpose, for you ppl to make up an end you like or for me if I happen to return to this story

So ladies and gentlemen,
I would really like to thank you for being patient with me and for your support! For those who don´t know, I did this comic as a project for school. My expectation was to make an animal-themed comic, circa 15-20 pages long, which would somehow raise "awarness" of animal poaching, hunting and skinning animals for coats. Since this comic was also aimed for younger readers, I had to keep it "clean" (no skinning animals alive and so on..) so I had to point out the problems indirectly.
For example: Ben´s parents being hunted and kidnapped (in the 1930´s, when thylacines were still alive, they were hunted for their skin and sold for high prices, that´s one of the reasons why they became extinct. If they are somewhere still alive, I hope humanity never discovers them, so they can live their own lives freely and without people killing them). Before I started drawing this comic, I intended to make a scene where Ben would somehow get to a poacher´s house and see the corpses of his parents (of course this thing seemed too much barbaric to me so I didn´t add it there). Another example is a woman on page 16, wearing an orange coat. The fur on the coat is supposed to be fox fur, which is another problem I wanted to point out. Using fur for things such as clothes, bags or purpses seems to me like a drastic and pointless act, which is a huge problem even these days. Of course things which happen in this comic didn´t happen in the reality. Benjamin (which my character Ben is based on) was a real thylacine, and was the last of his kind seen in captivity. His gender was never really confessed and there is no 100% real evidence whether he was a male or a female. There are a lot of websites which say Ben was actually a girl, but from my latest research, I found out he was showed as a male, from the examination of the last video footage (where people saw him having male organs). The real Benjamin was born to a mother together with two other cubs and lived most of his life in Beaumaris zoo in Tasmania (another thing I wanted to point out is that the zoo shown in this comic is not based on the real Beaumaris zoo. It is just a random zoo Ben was brought too, not even the cages look the same.). Benjamin died in 1936 because of being left outside in harsh conditions of Tasmanian weather.

Probably one of the most mentaly tiring things I´ve ever done I had seriously so much stress because of this...sometimes I spent the whole day working on it because I wanted to get it finished since I have a deadline for this. My mom literally wanted to kill me everytime she saw me working on it..because I had to neglect my school work because of this comic, and I spent most of my days stuck in my room. It doesn´t seem like it but this page took me like 20 hours to finish, since they have around 12-15 pannels each. However even with all the stress I had, I am happy I did this project it was a great journey with you guys! and I am probably not returning to comics very soon this totally finished me! I want to take at least a week off without drawing to regenerate, and then I will start all the serious art. Hopefully I will open paypal comissions and make a bunch of trades with you guys! <3
