Little bit off topic but did anyone else notice the Shivalli cameo in The Lion Guard? They even had all three cubs there! They were adorable. She was going by the name Varya though but I'm pretty sure it was her trying to run from the dhole revenge. Y'know, changing her name, running from her old territory and seeking saftey for her cubs at the tree of life and all.
I'll have pics uploaded to my stash in a minute because, you know, pics or it didn't happen.

Well, looks like Shivali's been in the area for a while. I wonder if she is also the same tiger that took Adi's mother? I can't remember when he said she died, but none of these characters seem all that old so it can't have been that long ago.
Sadly Adi is right: sad as it is, it IS common. Nature is brutal and only the cleverest, fittest, and luckiest animals survive to a ripe age.
I love the friendship between these two and hope it can survive the trials ahead. Hopefully Adi never finds out that Sanatani helped kill ( and probably helped eat ) his mate and fawn.

I was under the assumption that he already knows it was them/her that killed his mate and fawn? And that he's avoiding saying it.

Well, you could be right, but it's not spelled out anywhere. I am under the assumption he doesn't know. He wasn't there when the attack happened. Maybe he smelled dhole around the bodies and maybe he didn't. Maybe someone saw and told him and maybe they didn't. There is lots of room for him to either know or not know, suspect or not suspect, because we, the audience, don't know how much he knows.
As for me, I am assuming he does not know because he was SUPER attached to/in love with his mate and in love with the idea of meeting his fawn, to the point where he was suicidal for a bit right after they died. If he knew or suspected the dholes I would think he would go to another predator to kill him, so as not to "reward" his family's killers with his meat, too. Not to mention he would probably have been less open to befriending Santani to start with.
But we'll see. Maybe we will be shown in good time.

I think, deep down at least, he knows. I don't think there was any reasonable thoughs in him when he went suicidal. He was just in so much pain, he could not think straight for a while. Maybe. Now I have to read that story all over again, because it's been a while, just to be sure I remember correctly.
Things might get interesting if this get out on the open, tho.
