Traditionaly unicorns have beards and long lion tails. I gave both rarity and twilight beards bc they are both unicorns (in twilight's case formally a unicorn). In my headcanon only alicorns have the long tails and beards for elite unicorns, like the ones in canterlot, are a fashion statement bc the princesses have them however they are common among all unicorns.
