Description
Thoughts: Another exercise for the Meta materials. What would be fatal damage to a Program is instead just superficial sectioning of Verus' front of interaction. Originally the rear 'creature' was meant to have a radial, snowflake-like set of geometries around it, but I couldn't settle on a proper design.... And it would have been visually difficult to do. Another disincluded visual was a sort of mild lavender mist in the missing volumes or damage; again, difficult to do. It would actually be more accurate to say that the tail/creature thing back there is him... Or, representative of his greater mass or self, according to the overarching ideas for the Meta materials.
What's seen as Tesler (or any figure in question) would be more akin to an advanced interface, or maybe a set of hands, or the skin and muscle of one's face. It's really no use separating one from the other, but representing the matter of degree and expression is the real question.
Regardless, the original idea was to have the surface of his body there be more like fractured cathedral architecture, all in fine segments of strange, chrome-like violet stone - but I couldn't settle on a workable 'architecture,' nor did I bother attempting a darker colouration and contrast in shades.
Materials: Mechanical pencil, sketchbook paper, col-erase, and watercolour.
Notes: Tesler is a character of the original TRON:Uprising, 2012

Ouch... That looks painful. I'm not familiar with Meta, but to me, the fragmented, "coming-apart" look makes it seem like he's glitched. The geometric pattern of the damage is orderly, not jagged, and most of the edges are neatly parallel. To me that says glitch more than deliberate damage.
The squid-like creature in the background reminds me of the Sentinels from the Matrix... Sorry, random thought, that's probably not what you were going for at all
Anyway, I like the use of color here, and the proportions and sense of depth is great!

Okay. I haven't seen TrOn 2012 yet, but it is interesting to see characters "broken" or fragmented like that.
If this picture does get finished digitally, it could look awesome to see a circuit board floor, and a circuit board ceiling; both the floor and the ceiling can begin behind Tesler and recede into the background. That would be cool.

Actually, one artist here has requested to digitally colour and ink this work - while I can't say what sort of liberties might be applied, perhaps something along the more canonical Grid/TRON universe might come of it.
As it is, most of these works in this 'Alternate/Symbolic' folder are just that - mostly eccentric derivatives intended for a side project. One of the greater values I see in this side project is that the instances, dark as they might seem, actually take a reasonable - if broad - accuracy as to the figures in question.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around this whole thing. Though, I really love the concept of this and the design. Could I maybe take a swing at inking and coloring it digitally?

I'd be honored if you care to! By all means, go for it.
I should have other similar concepts come up, in time. I can't say to what degree they may vary, but they should be good challenges one and all... And hopefully offer as interesting an angle on canonical Tesler, at the same time!
