I think these little guys might be Scientific Parasites (which are easter egg characters, like the snail); They live in the pockets of smart people and feed off the energy emitted from said people's brainwaves.

I liked this scene a lot. It just showed so much of PB's character without saying a word. She is one who constantly explores the notions of life and death: resurrection, life creation, immortality. Now here she observes a mini version of her own world and "plays God" a bit. In a way it reminded me of this scene [link]

Wow, that is very interesting, even though the video was a little bit creepy. Bubblegum is one curious princess indeed. I wonder how candy are given life as well.
