Haha, great scene but Harry's Crucio is still the weakest I've ever seen.

I always wondered why the hell he wasn't tried for using the Unforgivable Curses. He used the Imperius twice (once on a human) and twice the Cruciatus (once failed). I don't say he should spend the rest of his days in Azkaban, but he should have been tried at least.

mah! maybe because they were in a war and "alll means were good" in the 1st Magical war, id. Aurors were allowed to kill Death Eaters (Sirius says it in 4th book)

Probably because they were under attack and in the middle of a war, and because Harry Potter was such an important figure that someone like the Carrows would have tried to take him to Voldemort, some thigs were forgiven. It's be like trying a soldier for shooting an enemy soldier when they were advancing. Something that would be unacceptable anywhere else but acceptable in war.

Thing is, Harry wasn't an auror (equivalent to soldier) - he was like a civilian shooting people.

It was during a war and he was technically an enemy combatant as the Ministry had fallen to Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Civilians DO have the right to protect themselves and others with deadly force if the situation calls for it. Considering that this person was threatening students and Professor McGonagall, Harry would've been allowed to do what he had to do in order to subdue his opponent.

Ah, but they never did consider him as such, did they? Not even when he first came to Hogwarts. Hell, not even before that. He was always the famous Boy-Who-Lived, and generally got away with things (although the Parseltongue thing and the Tournament were exceptions).

So when the Carrows, who'd been torturing and near-killing the students of Hogwarts all year long were put under the Cruciatus by the famous Harry Potter, saviour of the Wizarding World, defeater of Voldemort... They really didn't care.

The curse is fabulous! It kinda shows a curse-in-process, which I can never seem to do... it always ends up looking like Augamenti.

Note to self: Don't piss off Harry Potter.

McGonagall: OH MAI GAWD!

I like that he isn't perfect or a saint. He'd be nauseating if he was. And it's well established that there are parallels between Harry and Voldemort, and this just shows how Harry, too, has that sort of killer instinct.

Awesome! I just got finished rereading this part of DH today. Nice work.

However, I agree with Nymfadora about the bg. Ravenclaw Common Room should be more blue-purple, ~*Mystical*~, that sort of thing. But as I don't have one-tenth of the talent you do, I will shut my mouth. :-D

You did a great job with McGonagall, esp her age and expression, and I really like Amycus' movement...

But I have to tell that Harry's hand with the wand is a bit high, and I'd prefer a more blueish/Ravenclawish backround...But backround are always nasty, so, it's pretty good like this too...

Hehe, I know, I can't draw poses, especially when perspective is involved -btw, the position of Harry's hand was totally intentional, he looks angrier with his raised arm casting the spell- but it's often difficult for me to make him look natural...
