If the rumors that have popped up, since Fantastic Beasts are to be believed, and Ariana WAS an Obscurial, then could it be possible, that nobody killed her, that she actually killed herself, when loosing control of the Obscurus inside her? Obscurials don't live past 10, usually, so maybe after just managing to survive four more years or so, the stress just proved to much to handle anymore?

I read DH when it came out, yet I didn't remember this. Today I was reading up a little on Dumbledore's family and I "found out" about little, traumatized Ariana Dumbledore accidentally dying in a duel between her brothers and Grindelwald. It's so sad...

This is brilliant. I love so many things:
1) The expressions. Especially Albus's furious expression as he duels Gellert. In my opinion, even before Ariana died, when Albus saw Grindelwald use the Cruciatus Curse on Aberforth, that was the turning point for him, when he turned his back on Gellert and on the Dark Arts. Thus he tried to protect ABERFORTH, rather than Gellert. You captured that intensity amazingly. I also like Aberforth's angry expression, which is somewhat different from Albus's.
2) The familial resemblance between Albus and Aberforth. You'll be shocked how many otherwise brilliant artists on this site cannot seem to grasp the concept of a family resemblance. They're supposed to look ALIKE, not like clones. You made them look very alike - as they should be - but not identical, which is exactly right.
3) The spells. WOW. They're definitely the technical masterpiece of this picture. The way the different colored lights are reflecting off of the various characters is amazing, and you really did make them look like spells and not like colored lines. Also, I love how each one is unique.
4) The overall intensity of the scene. Aside from everything I've listed, there's the postures, the desperate way Ariana is runnignto try and help her brothers... you just captured that static emotion perfectly.
This is, just incredible. I love it. Fave x10.
