Well, all the paint tutorials on here are for a more outlining style. I experimented in this (see [link] ) but found my old style a bit more effective.So, here's how I make pictures in MS paint. I'm sorry about the instructions, they're probably a bit patronizing (it was late.)
Oh, and I also had to do a giftart for because she got my 1000 pageview and I still haven't!

Haha, now I have photoshop and flash, and no MS Paint
But I don't really have the energy to do digital art. I still prefer traditional. It's a bit sad that this has become my most well known artwork because I believe I am much more skilled in other media.

Well...er...being popular.
I don't know why it was the MS paint tutorial that got popular. Probably because there's a lot of people on here with only MS paint.
Now, this is the proper way to get popular. All you have to do is post comments on people's pages, be civil. participate in Deviantart, and just submit (good) art frequently (stuff that you spent time and effort on, not just stuff you know is crap that you're submitting to fill a hole.) I'm not even that popular by deviantArt standards.
If you want to know how to get REALLY popular (and this isn't what I do because being popular isn't my sole goal) the do the following:
- submit only one type of art. Get good at it but submit only one type (eg food plushies, origami, or digital drawings of unicorns)
- do fanart (really easy way to give yourself a boost. I don't like fanart but instantly you will have a million fans descending upon you and loving you)
- do anime (again, I'm not big on anime but it seems stupidly popular
- do macabre and horror (there are a lot of gore obsessed people out there.)
- Do Disney Fanart (it's good if you focus on one movie too like Spirit, or the Lion King. People love that - don't ask me why.)
- Be a shameless plugger.
- Enter deviantart contests.
- join a hundred thousand deviantArt clubs
- lurk on the chatrooms and forums.
Personally I wouldn't do any of those things, but that IS a very easy way to get popular on DA. IMHO getting popular by doing those steps is almost cheating. (Yes, I know I'm cynical!
