While Akito drops off his belongings in a corner of their modest home, Kami kneels by the table to make tea.
"I can’t wait for you to tell me about your journey... It was terribly long here without you. Tea?"
No answer, Kami smiled, raising her eyes to heaven: she had almost forgotten how little her companion spoke. She turns, determined to insist on the tea question, when she realizes that he is taking out his brushes.
"Akito... But what are you doing?"
Nice time to choose! They have just found each other and he decides to paint?! The dark eyes of the lunar Akito rise slowly to cross those of his wife and a barely perceptible smile animates his lips. With a stroke, he pushes back the long black hair on Kami’s neck, sliding them down to her shoulder.
"My sweet spirit, you shudder... Are you cold?"
Kami laughs softly at the sincere question of her strange companion and shakes her head for any answer. She’s gotten used to the way he sees the world. The young woman guesses that what’s in Akito’s head is not sex. No, that’s what’s going on in her head... especially after such a long separation!
-I missed painting your soft skin with a thousand drawings.
So this is what has been obsessed with her dear Akito since his return! Kami gives up the tea on the table and, defeated in advance by the kindness and sweetness of her husband, capitulates. She lets her kimono slip from her rounded shoulders to her hips, while the painter’s fingers graze her skin to better appreciate the curves of his favorite canvas. Kami sighs, smiling, and closes her eyes when the brush delicately traces its first scrolls. This feeling so soft on her skin is reminiscent of the one her companion has on her soul. New chills.
"Are you really sure you’re not cold?"
Kami hears a hint of perplexity in Akito’s usually monochor voice and she laughts in front of his inexhaustible candour.
