Request for my lovely friend I really loved the look of her OC mimi(the buns!!! omg <333) plus she's been giving me encouragement about finding me chibi style so thanks bbu! Hope you like the drawing and I hope I didn't destroy your OC ;;w;; Sorry for such a crappy and simple pose, I lost my creativity or something lol oops-- If there is anything I forgot or have done wrong let me know and I'll fix it kay??? <3333I'd really love any kind of feedback since I suck at chibis and would like to know where I can improve XD ignoring the anatomy,pose and bg since the main point of this was to focus on style and colouring
As for this style of chibi and colouring, I kinda like it? I know I got some of the anatomy wrong in a sense that it jsut looks weird XD but that aside I like the short and almost 'chubby' look to it XD My favourite part is the eyes! I love how they came out and are the only part I am certain about keeping in future chibi drawings! The colouring...well I have mixed feeling about it XD At first a went for a very simple cell shade but it became more complicated along the way so I don't really know how I feel about it. I like it but I'm not sure if I would keep this style for future chibis. But let me know what you guys think!

-expression (I didn't really like the mouth, but that's about it)
-going further (This is amazing! And I'm sure you can get to improve!!)
-Possibly make the lines bigger (Only around the edges, it adds a cuter effect)

is the sparkles and stuff part of the design?? in any case it looks amazing!! the whole thing is like coherent (is that a word?) and idk it just looks very glossy and very pretty!Β Β Β Β i definitely think you should keep the sparkles!! Β Β

you mean the character design? no, I just felt the art looked too 'empty' and decided to shower it in sparkles XD Thank you so much!! >/////< <33 coherent as in consistent? sorry I'm not good with big fancy words XD Β Any way thank you so much for the kind words! <333 It helps keep me motivated 0v0)b I like the sparkles but they took so long so I might try to limit them next time or find an easier way to do them XDΒ

I love the way you shade everything!!
The colours are amazing, specially the ones you chose for her skirt! It looks warm on the right and more cold in the left lol and you merge them very well!
Omg that sparkles, they look really cute qwq and how you draw bunsss! I can only draw two circles lol everything looks so detailed<33 (detailed? What is that? I don't know it :c )
That big eyes looks so pretty!! I really like them, I saw a lot of styles with hearts, sparkles, and that, but you make it look really gooood
I love her beautifull hands and legs, they look really really cute, specially for this style :3 and her expression is really good too!

Ah that's because I used red/pink and blue overlay XD since there's no evident source of light/shadows and thought I'll throw in some contrast haha XD
I'm currently at battle with these sparkles, on one hand I like how they look, on the other it takes way to long XD I love drawing buns! One of my OCs has buns and I sketch her a lot so I guess you get used to it lol.
aaaaww thank you!! The sparkles in the eyes were more of an 'accident' but I saw other artist do the heart thing and I wanted to try it >w<

I don't think there's any right chibi anatomy but I saw a chibi tutorial on youtube and thought it was quite helpful! It explains what makes chibis cute -- like down to a science almost! It's a bit long but the side commentary makes it enjoyable too <3 ! Here's the link X3:Β

I think you should keep drawing chibis <3 Every chibi you draw is a step closer to finding your own style! It might take a long time (took up to a year for me haha), but the feeling of satisfaction from finding a style that feels like "you" is a very rewarding one ;w; <3 Wishing you the best of luck, dear!Β

I'M SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT BBU!!! <333 I was worried because I kept having slight doubts aha still am but that's all part of progress I guess?? Yes! When I started colouring I did the eyes, hair, skin and shirt first and though 'Hey! this looks pretty good!' then I got to the larger and less detailed areas and things changed to 'CRAP!!! WHAT DO I DO!? WHAT DO I DO?!?!' haha omg I'm too tired for DA XD Oh it's fine! I understand I do that too! (hence why this reply took a few days.....)
Yeh I couldn't find the words I wanted to say and just settle with anatomy but I think I just mean I didn't like how the arms and hands were positioned, I thought it looked unnatural?? But I was half way through colouring when I noticed this and didn't want to go back ;;w;; OMG I WATCHED THAT!!! I love Yamio's art <33 She is the reason I want to get back into chibis XD everytime I watch one of her videos all I want to do is draw chibis and cute shtuffs >/////<
Once my exams are over and my summer holidays come I'm going full out chibi mode! I will drown you all in chibis muhahahaha!!! haha I really want to try chibis that are more curvy? again I can't find the right words ;;w;; I also want to try a paint-like colouring! I've seen some chibis like that and want to see if I can come up with something like that too but also make it my own lol ^^Β

Curvy cheebs are sorta my number one love -- only thing is when I do them, I have short skirt syndrome where their skirt is like short enough to be a shirt and it shows their butt XD
I think you're definitely on ur way to a style of ur own! Keep drawing and practicing and you're gonna have those light bulbs go off when u find stuff u like ! Again thank u and good luck!
