Nice work. But I will never draw Ariel differently no matter who gets to play her. For me she is white and has red hair. You see a girl with Arielβs hair and wearing something green and purple, you immediately associate her with the animated Ariel. If anyone draws a different hair style and color, and skin color I would never recognize who they are drawing. So to me the actress is not playing Ariel, but some other mermaid. Disney could have easily created a new black mermaid BUT they wanted to make max amount of money hence are using the name that every single person knows βArielβ very sad Disney very sad.....

Here's my half-joke, she got a year long tanning so I can assume she'll be ready for revisitation from the original.
Great art overall.

I'm watching at every black Ariel illustrations/drawings and really it never works well, even with the best DeviantArt artists
If you are honest as an artist, you clearly see the colors and character origin can't reproduce the mermaid charmΒ Β

Thank you for this beautiful version of Ariel. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with how she looks, because black is beautiful, and it upsets the racist crybabies. If you claim to not be racist, enjoy a different version of something you enjoy.
I don't care to see giant breasts on female characters that I like, but I absolutely do not go on someone's page and make a fool of myself by complaining about it. I'm only saying this to those that claim to not be racist. Those that are will corntinue to entertain us with their stupidity. π vs π

If they make her like this then great, this looks great keeping the red hair fantastic pic =3 My issue isn't the actresses race, it's just yet potentially another example in a long line of hollywood noticeably replacing redheads
It's like, Annie, gone, Starfire, gone, Mary Jane, gone, batwoman, gone, bow from shera, gone, many cases of Batgirl and April o'Neil, gone, jimmy olson, gone, Black Widow, gone(KIA), Kid Flash, gone
So yeah,Β Halle Bailey, fine great, be Ariel, just keep the red hair, we can't afford to keep losing the redheads ='(

I mentioned them because they whine against equality, which is why I refer to them as "Alt-Wrong". They cried about the Netflix series Luke Cage not having enough white characters in it. Same with Black Panther. Fear and jealousy make some folks act ignorant and childish. Even those that don't identify as such can get over it. In the Spider-Man comics, Parker built his web shooters. In the Tobey McGuire films he grew them. I like the idea of him using his scientific skills to build them and produce the proper chemical compounds to make artificial webbing and the control over it to make swinging lines and "netting". Whether it is organic or built, I enjoy most versions because I like Spider-Man.

The left wing is as bad to be honest, overreacting to literally everything, demonizing anybody who is male, straight and/or white, people seem to forget to understand that Trump never said he hates immigrants that go to America legally, he wants to crack down on those coming through illegal means.
How tf are they 'jealous'? What is there to be jealous of? Who gives a shit, also when bringing up Black Panther, the left claimed that if you didn't see it, you were racist, it you saw it and disliked it you were racist and your opinion doesn't matter anyway because the movie wasn't 'made for you' it's a movie, it was made for everybody ffs same with the A Force scene in Endgame, which to me felt forced and unnecessary

Not the whole left feels that way about seeing or not seeing this movie or show. I know that not every MAGA hat wearer is racist. I know that we can be patriotic without worshipping a song and flag. A lot of behaviours derived from these issues are quite pathetic. And I don't recognize "legal" or "illegal" immigration. European immigrants did not come here either way, they just showed up. The indigenous people, or Native Americans did not have such a system to thwart immigration. If they had, would the Europeans have respected it, or would they have taken the land by force like they did?
The Alt-Wrong cannot tolerate those with superioror skills and aesthetic qualities that they do not possess. White supremacy my ass. They claim to have high IQs, yet lose their jobs because they feel it's necessary to promote their ignorance on social media. Tell us, how do YOU feel about athletes kneeling during the National Anthem? "Shut up and dribble!"? Or fo you have the decency and common courtesy to respect and honor the freedom of speech of others? Soldiers risk their lives and have died for our right to be a free country. Do you understand why athletes kneel? Do you respect their views? Do you understand what Black Lives Matter means? I know that there are extreme left and right views. Compassion and communication is a path to peace which should be preferred. π vs π

I understand that and it's precisely the same with right you know? It's just thag vocal minority that happens to be thrust into the spotlight and from my understanding. The indigenous people or Native Americans initially did not have a bad relationship with the settlers (down here in Australia it's been discovered that first contact wasn't hostile or negative) and the relationship the French had with the Native Americans wasn't a bad or hostile one either. The difference between this is that the settlers appeared hundreds of years ago still when much of the world outside of Europe and Asia was still unknown. The difference being that now illegal immigrants who are undocumented, expect entry to the country through shady means that cause a problem, if you just let people into a country then there could be an overcrowding problem.
I don't really care for sport or athletes all too much either so it doesn't bother me (the only 'sport' I follow is Formula 1). And answer this, if the left is so respectful of other views, then why do they tell Right wing people that their opinion is wrong? I'm right leaning and my left wing friends literally told me my opinion is wrong, I also got told that voting 3rd party would be a waste of a vote if I lived in America.
And yeah, I understand the extreme views as well (Antifa, Neo Nazism, Those crazy people on Tumblr, etc) and they're just a general issue for everybody and we get it, Black Lives Matter but what about human life as a whole? Rather than just a single group of people you know?

Black lives should be included as All Lives Matter, otherwise it's not all lives. Many people, especially many Caucasians do not see an issue with police "justifiably" harming or killing unarmed minorities, which is at a much higher rate than white suspects here. When I first heard if Black Lives Matter, I did not think that they only meant that their lives mattered more than others. "Black Lives Matter Too", or "Black Lives Matter As Well" is rather ignorant in this light. I am white, so I don't know the cruelty and hardships endured by minorities. I have been poor and homeless. I was bullied by whites, blacks and Hispanics because I have a physical disability. I have been treated with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect from these groups. There is ugliness and beauty in all.
As far as right and left wing views, I understand that some wish to adhere to policies that they and their families grew up on. Traditional values against abortion and such. America is divided because as the "Land of the free", we are supposed to be truly free and have these choices. I don't enjoy knowing that a woman may be promiscuous and decide to end her baby's life. I don't enjoy knowing that a woman may be forced to have a child as a result of rape. There are Third World countries that force this upon girls that are barely in their puberty.
I don't follow sports myself, yet I do understand and appreciate what they are protesting. Were I an athlete of a sport, I would lie face down in protest of many injustices, as well as to say to any that wish to argue against it that they can kiss my ass. Especially Tyrannical Racist Unites Mindless Peons. He is a fucktard. I'm going to share one video that may give some insight on these matters. Feel free to share your thoughts on it if you do watch it.

That was my point though, my point was that they way members of BLM behave made it feel like they only cared about the lives of African Americans, also I get where your coming from (had to research the Philando Castile case for a presentation in a Modern History class)
Share away and for all the bad things and all the accusations (emphasis on accusations), Trump has done some decent things too. I understand that everybody has their own choice for their lifestyle so who am I to judge? But if you put others down because they live a different lifestyle? Then it's a very major problem, same with if you try to force your lifestyle onto others when they clearly don't wish to live that way, the James Charles controversy comes to mind as well as Vegan protesting, it's that idea of forcing lifestyles onto people who don't wish to live that way that causes a problem too.
I'm glad that we've managed to have thjs rational and pleasant debate too dude, much better than going somewhere like Tumblr or Twitter haha

Trump takes credit for many things that he did not accomplish. It seems that many of his supporters think he is a god, which lends to the country being even more divided. If he can stop being a pompous imbecile and bring peace to all nations, great. As far as I see it, people love him just because he tweets and "grabs them by the pussy".

To be completely honest, he claimed to have lowered unemployment, especially black unemployment. That is false. There is proof that he is taking credit for a lot of good that Obama accomplished. It is difficult to make everyone happy, but his base is definitely not my kind of people.
I find it quite hilarious that many conservatives make fun of leftists as if they all follow extreme views. I know that not all right wingers are extreme, like those that cringed when Trump stated that shooting "illegal" immigrants might deter them from entering the country. I know we don't need national borders, because there are already domestic terrorists here. Neo Nutzis, Kowardly Kuck's Klub and similar groups are doing more harm all over the world than any other extremist groups. I know that anyone regardless of their race and nationality can do me harm, or bless me in minor and major ways. It all comes down to how we were raised and our values.

you realise that changing ariel race makes no sense either with consistency or genetically. both parents were white thus, ariel is white unless it's some "alternate reality" where she's black, srsly though, I don't mind a black mermaid, diversity and all that but couldn't it be a different story but aligns with ariel's and happens at the same time? maybe they could both be princesses but of a different origin, maybe ariel's dad was with a black mermaid and they gave birth to her, what about a story of this long lost sibling that even ariel didn't know about that was abandoned or lost in some sort of storm and kept secret? you see where I'm going? I'm all for diversity and a black mermaid in the movie would be nice but not in this way, ariel started as white and should be white just like mario was white he should be white, it's too much of a change for ariel and the movie to suddenly make her black, unless some magic happens and she's now black, I don't see how this would work

The Little Mermaid was written by Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish writer. It was published in 1837. The mermaid was not named in the book, yet the 1989 film follows the general story of her desire to become human after rescuing the prince. One of the book's plot points was that she would feel excruciating pain in her legs. For more information, Google The Little Mermaid story, and scroll down to find the Wikipedia entry.

You don't get it? It's all a sign of modern Disney's newfound wokeness. Apparently they even want to make things historically inaccurate by having a black person in a Danish tale, because white people apparently need to be erased from existence. Besides, pale skin helps a swimming creature blend in better on the seafloor than a creature with darker skin.
And hey, redheads have always been one of the most oppressed minorities in history, so why disappoint and confuse little girls who want to relate to her (especially redhead girls)? Oh right, because they are still white.
Actually, all the recent remakes are unnecessary and are easily forgotten about very quickly. Where's the new original material not rehashed from their previous works? Though Mary Poppins 2 was good, and hopefully Onward will be good as well.
