I feel inclined to say thank you for putting your time into making such a useful tutorial! I'm yet to actually sit down and follow it but just by reading it alone I feel like I've already gained some useful tips for next time I decide to sit down and color with pencils x333
I'm soo happy you posted the color names you used to shade and posted each step! Considering I seem to have most of the same colors as you (and I use Prismas) I'm very excited about trying out this technique!
Soo thank you sooooo much for making this <3333

When I scan my prisma color pencil drawings the color barely shows up at all and it looks washed out. What should I do??????

Lukiih In reply to DarkLady02 [2008-07-12 18:35:34 +0000 UTC]
You'll have to play around with your scanner's setting if that's the case. I used to have problem with that too. : (

I can help. First, look at your coloring. Is it lightly colored and gentle, or did you color VERY VERY HARD? Prismas blend pretty, but typically are better if you use a LOT of them on the paper.
If you did color dark, try raising the DPI of your scanner.
Lastly, you can edit the levels in Photoshop, or any generic photo editor.

this is a very good tutorial!!
it's very clear and exact to the point that even a doofus like me can understand.
(plus it's not boring bcoz you added a splash of humor in it.)
you used just plain words and it's very cool!
two thumbs up!

For what black parts are you using colour pencil and for what are you using your inking pen?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lukiih In reply to orange-fire-demon [2008-07-12 18:36:31 +0000 UTC]
I use inking pen to outline things. Everything else that's black is done with a black pencil. : )

I know i am exceptionally late coming to the party, considering you posted this a year and a half ago, but i had some questions. Your coloring is so smooth and even, except for the hair i can't pick out individual strokes. It's just so consistent. How do you do that? Any additional tips you could give a newbie who barely knows which end of her Prismas is up?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lukiih In reply to ViridianVenus [2008-07-12 18:39:50 +0000 UTC]
Wow...I'm really late with replies. Sorry about that.
I think that the most helpful tip I can give is that your pencils should be sharp and you should color slow. When your pencil tips are dull, there tends to be more white space left. That also goes for when you're coloring in a frenzy. Even I have trouble with that sometimes.
