This is my first ever tutorial and it's about drawing realistic hair in photoshop CS2, using a tablet. It is for a friend who asked for it between a couple of drinks

This is part one, focusing on the shaping, part 2 will follow shortly and will be about the shading.
I welcome questions, tips and added techniques, if you have suggestions or comments I'd be glad the hear them! I'm here to learn as well as teach

very helpful!! i've never really put layer masks to use much, though i know how they work, sorta...what other things do you use them for while drawing, if any at all? what are they useful for?
