(no this is not steampunk)Idea behind it;
I like to imagine doctor whooves as Doctor who (as many others).
So I drew this drawing with the doctor and rose in the background.
The idea behind the drawing is that the doctor goes to this future with rose. Probably to solwe something. At the meantime they got to stay low. So I thought (hey, maybe the doctor made a work shop) but that he sadly started to miss derpy... So he found some stuff here and there, and put togheter this machine... But no matter what, derpy is derpy, and her love for muffins will always be there (and the whole making everything a mess, at times.... We still love you derpy XD)

How large a canvas do you usually start with? I imagine keeping it large helps to fine-tune all that glorious detail.

Holy butts, this is masterfully done! I absolutely LOVE the detail put into her design, and I love that you even gave her what I can only assume is some sort of hydraulic system with the tubs full of liquid being used to move the limbs. Very beautifully done, indeed! Β ^u^

I actually have a question for you, what was the most difficult texture to create ?Β The metallic surface of Derpy, her hair, or the Muffin ?

Ehhh, honestly it all was fairly simple. Since it's materials I have drawn a lot.
Maybe the metal, to get it shiny in the right way. Making sure it reflected light.
