In the modern age, technological advancements are growing exponentially. The modern age of the world is just starting to see the rise of robots and artificial intelligence in the public eye. Simple robots made in university labs, AI in your smartphones, etc. However, deep within organizations that have the money and research, more sophisticated robots and AI exist. To the general public, pure artificial intelligence and cognizant robots are a thing of science fiction. For now.

Robots: Robots are defined as the mechanical body that houses AI of varying intelligence and sentience. Robots without AI are basically drones that follow orders without question and improvement.

Artificial Intelligence (AI): The AI is the software brain that inhabits either a robot body/bodies or an entire immobile system. The level of intelligence an AI can go from very basic to super intelligent. It is extremely rare that an AI will evolve to be sentient (have emotional response) unless otherwise programmed.

*Soul Intelligence (SI): The ghost in the machine. A soul is extracted and housed into a robotic body. These robots will speak and act just like a person. But their personality and memories are the only thing human about them. All other functions are mechanical, ie. can hold a lot more memory their data bank. Some cases seem to feel pain. The process to achieve this has been discovered (and performed successfully) only by a select few. *LOCKED SUBSPECIES

Alien Robots: The world of outer space is vast, and more technologically advanced in places, so naturally, alien robots exist. Their sentience, however, is still VERY UNCOMMON. Should they find themselves on Earth, they might find that resources to power or fix themselves might not be very compatible...
