Description ...when i am under stress...i create...and it's raining today...i like that. trying something new again...hope you enjoy =]

many of you might be familiar with laputa - castle in the sky. very classic and old anime...that i grew up watching. i love these older anime much more than the new ones...they had so much substance. like nausicaa - valley of the wind...totoro...fireflie's grave...they bring back so much memories of my childhood...

all airbrushed in ps7 with mouse.

When I heard Laputa, I thought you meant the place from Gulliver's Travels. It is a place where everyone lives for ever, but they are all blind and sick.

well, the whole island of laputa was actually taken from a classic literature called "gulliver's tales"

because of the author's opinion of the Spanish, he probably intentionally named the floating island that.
in Japanese, it meant nothing, so the name stuck with the movie.

Of course, for the American release, the title "Laputa" had to be trimmed from the title because of its very meaning, although in the dub they DO pronounce it as "Lah-pyu-tah", which is a somewhat odd compromise, but it works nonetheless. (And unlike some, I actually think Disney did a fine job with it; their dub is more boisterous than the original, yes, but at least the actual story, characters, and spirit are unchanged--and I liked the performances by the cast, yes, even the mature-sounding leads, as well as Joe Hisaishi's new score. Of course, I also like the Japanese version, but I have no problem watching this movie, or any other Miyazaki movie for that matter, dubbed.)

Tis good. I have recently been getting into my anime and manga. I bought some of the studio Ghibli animes the other day and i particularly like Howls Moving Castle. I am yet to see Laputa Castle and i'm wanting to get Nausicaa but funds prohibit right now.
the sky is very good as are the roots. I'm always envious of those who can use photoshop. I just aint got the time right now to practise.

Beatiful film, beautiful picture, and you did it with a *mouse* for Frith's sake?? Stunning. Ever since I saw the film a few years ago I decided that if there was one place I had to spend eternity then Laputa would be it, and your great work only confirms it.
