Personality:
Nim is very intelligent, good at problem solving and inventing, and they know it. They are very confidant and at times can get obnoxiously full of themself and talk too much about their own endeavors. Usually Nim is quite the loner, but if someone brings up anything to do with Nim themself, or a project that Nim is working on, they will talk the person's hear off about it with an almost overwhelming amount of passion. At their core, Nim is a fairly kind person, but that kindness is hidden under several layers of sarcasm and arrogance. If asked for help, Nim will almost always oblige, but will complain and be generally unpleasant about it the entire time.
When it comes to their projects, Nim has a one-track-mind, and when they get an idea in their head, they have to focus on it until it's brought to fruition. When in this state, Nim's morality is put on the back-burner, and they can end up doing some pretty heinous things without even considering the consequences of their actions. When this happens, they often end up being ashamed of themself when the project is completed and in extreme cases, with disassociate from it entirely.
Background:
Nim grew up in a world of magic and science, and they expressed a significant interest and talent in the later. They were always praised for that talent, and found themself pushing the boundaries of their experiments more and more as they got older. After a particularly tragic event in their life, that resulted in Nim losing an important person, they became fixated on getting that person back. They started working on a trans-dimensional portal that they were convinced would make it possible to do that, and it consumed their entire life for months. At a certain point, Nim believed that the portal was complete and functional, and stepped through it.
That was how they ended up a part of Kro's murder. The portal's calibrations were off, and Nim found themself in the presence of an obviously confused Kro. The portal collapsed as soon as Nim went through it, and there was no longer a way back. Kro had never seen anything like this happen before, and there was no way he was going to let someone like this escape.
