She may use magic again clouds, but she still fly around with the help of her wings, so I think she is doing good enough.

It kind of remind me of AJ who would prefer no magic as well, I mean, Twilight with her levitation could get Apples from hundreds of threes in half of minute what would take Applejack half of hour to do.
As much as I understand that in tradition Earth Ponies would not want Unicorns to use magic while helping on farm and Pegasi would not want Unicorns to use magic in weather control, and that in many sports using magic and flying is considered as cheating, but I do not really like it, after all, there is no rule what can prevent Earth Ponies from using extra strength, endurance and stamina in sport, and while Earth Ponies strength and magic help with physical labour, Pegasus best muscles are in they wings while Unicorn muscle is they magic, so it is kind of unfair.
As for Twilight, even if as Alicorn she have power of Unicorn, Pegasus and Earth Pony, her passion is still magic, and without it, she will never be able to catch up with flier like RainbowDash.
Long story short, telling Twilight to not use magic is like telling Applejack to not use legs or RainbowDash to not use wings, does not sounds fair to me.

And why not, it is like air shooting practice, instead of bucking clouds, Twilight can shot lasers and clouds can be like targets,after all Alicorn Twilight would make a nice fighter with her horn as galling gun ( like in changeling episode ), or Twilight can focus on heavy spells, but then she will be bomber.
Be-since, RainbowDash can use storm cloud to bomb ground with thunders, so why watching how Twilight shot down clouds with her magic would not be fun, if you ask me it is very innovate and cool, not everyday you can see Alicorn play air combat.
