Edits! My favorite one is the panel where Leone stabs Victor. The only reason I didn't show it explicitly when I first drew this page is that I wasn't skilled enough to draw character interactions. But now I am (okay so there are still anatomy flaws but it's all about confidence, right? Right!). It also matches the panel a few pages from now where Leone gets stabbed.---
So... artblock was more burnout from drawing so much so fast. I gave it a few days, tried again, and here we are with the final page of Victor's ill-fated attempt at intel gathering!

I feel like I made Leone waaayyy more sinister than his character is meant to be ;A; I actually like him a lot. He gets to be creepy because he's killing off my pet character, I suppose.
Possible reasons for Victor's power not to be working:
*His brain just got char-broiled
*Leone can clearly see that Victor has no hope of winning, the opposite outcome never crossed his mind and so Victor's power has nothing to grab onto, or...
*This is all part of the plan.
I don't know; I've given up on including Victor in the script and am just kind of going with it :'D

No, this cannot be! DANGET LUNA, NOW THE JUDGES ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR PYOID JUST SO VICTOR WILL NOT BE DEAD. And then all your totally epic swordfighting and cool blue-to-black borders will be for nothing! ;AAA;
(Haha, jokes aside, the borders WERE cool--I was a bit startled by the brilliant blue at the beginning but it worked very well with the slow color fade :3 )

I have a question about something I just noticed. The frames are turquoise, the same colors as Victor's eyes up near the top, and at the bottom, when he finally...you know, it's faded to black. Is that some killer symbolism or am I just reading into things?

His eyes fade with the background, also. Obviously you can't see that the last panel, but the implication is that his light has gone out, so to speak.

Also, I really like the fifth panel, and the seventh and ninth are quite impressive as well. I certainly did not expect things to take this turn, and certainly not so quickly.

I'm afraid it's happening so quickly because I'm not very good at illustrating fight scenes. That, and the difference in skill between the two of them has to be astronomical. Leone's pretty much just being polite when he says that Victor's injuries play a role in who wins. Such a nice guy!
