WARNING: massive file is massive! I:but now you guys can't bug me about this crap can sort of have a really long glimpse of how i do hair! think of it as an early christmas gift, haha.
it's basically the same process for everything that i do, and the only difference with long and short hair is how much time it takes to do. C: i hope it helps you guys out!BTW, if anyone catches spelling mistakes and lets me know, i will love them eternally. i was so set on just finishing this thing that i kind of just said "DONE" and stopped caring after a while, haha ...
the bum in the tutorial, by the by, belongs to my latest victim! he's a secret santa. you should see him in a little bit, probably tomorrow / later today since it's actually already wednesday ...

You've probably already been told this, but since you asked, on no1., there's a spelling mistake:you've written feally instead of really 
This is an amazing tutorial. Really-brilliant. I'm assuming you used a tablet for this? It sucks. I don't have a tablet-I find doing stuff like manes and tails impossible.
One other thing: because its a very light grey horse, it can't have a black tail, as far as I know. Let me know if wrong, but I'm pretty sure...

Hi there, thanks for the feedback !! Yes, I noticed myself not too soon after I posted the tutorial and just never got around to editing the .psd, hahaha. I'm planning on making a new tutorial anyhow, and I figure you guys are smart enough to figure out that I meant " really " instead of " feally ", hehe. And mhmm, I do use a tablet ! Lastly, that horse actually is not light grey at all !! If you'll look, you'll see that the top portion of his bum is a very light sort of peach color, and that only the bottom portion is " white, " because he's really a bay roan splash with sabino [link] , which should explain the (mostly) black tail. u v u

How would you do this with cropped hair? Like zebra hair... There is no wave or anything to paint highlights on o.o

oof, i know what to do but can't find the right words to explain, hahaha. basically you kind of, um, treat the hair more like a part of the body instead of hair, does that make sense ? instead of highlighting on the wave, which is the part that sticks out and is touched most by light, you'd just light the whole mass of hair depending on where the lighting is coming from. oh man, that sounds awful both in my head and in this comment, hahaaa. :"D if you still need help, feel free to show me what you're working with and i'll do my best !

i actually think that looks great !! highlights are definitely the hardest to get the hang of, but i say you're on the right track. keep up the great work, and thanks for trying my tutorial out !

hey, it's a-okay! painting hair in my opinion is the hardest thing to learn, so don't worry about struggling. just keep practicing and you'll definitely get it. C8< looking at pictures of hair moving in the wind, etc, will help with the outlines, and try drawing colors from the horse itself!

yesss, i use a bamboo fun and photoshop cs5. sorry for the inconvenience! i've never touched gimp in my life, haha, so i can't offer you tips for working with a mouse or anything ... :C
