Introducing the latest in my character menagerie, my Irken Invader Ix and her SIR unit, NIM! I've always LOVED Nickelodeon's Invader Zim (the ONLY Nickelodeon show I like) and simply could NOT resist making myself an Invader character of my very own! Ix here is actually a rather competent and successful Invader for the Irken Empire but over the years has grown to value her SIR unit, Nim, as more of a friend than simply a servant to be sent into battle and potentially his doom. She has thus gone on indefinite leave in order to protect him and take a break from the constant destruction, choosing instead to simply enjoy the other species, planets, and environments she encounters instead. NIM is an older model SIR unit that has been by Ix's side since her very first mission. He is highly skilled (not to mention deadly), fully functional, incredibly intelligent, and strictly loyal to Ix. He has a curious, gentler side that he only shows to Ix; around her he relaxes and can be very affectionate and playful, but keeps his guard up around strangers.

I had SUCH a blast designing these two! I've never drawn an Irken before (never really had a chance to do any fan art for Zim) and it was SO MUCH FUN to just play around with Ix and NIM and draw out their expressions!!! I need to do more expressions like these! I also need to draw her with Zim... Haha!!! Maybe I'll draw their disguises as well! You'll see more of these two soon I'm sure!
