I always wondered how do they came up with the pattern for their spellcards. Granted, I haven't read grimoire of Marisa yet and I'm pretty sure I've only read about half of the official books but like architecture, I'm pretty sure they have to consider both practicality, function and aesthetic, and like many designing projects, they probably have crapload of rough sketches.Though since the game are all in 2d plane... that raises more question on the patterns...

Most of these spell patterns aren't even aesthetic or even recognizable, plus they almost all use the same kind of Danmaku. I never ever bothered to depict any spell cards other than a handful of the fighting game ones because I think the system is terrible outside of a shoot-em-up.
