Description No refs or short cuts used. I'm sure I'm going to have some withdrawal symptons with not having it to work on anymore.

The story behind this ... it kind of arose out of me trying to see if I could draw the same figure again and again from different poses ... well, to cut it short, I ended up liking the figure I was drawing and ideas developed ... this guy (nicknamed Trent) came into creation because of it.

The basic tale of this moment is in the print description but I'd rather you conjure up your own thoughts as to the story because I think, there are many ways of looking at it. Anyway, enjoy my friends! Comments always welcome.

Amazing. Sometimes I try to reuse the layers for different parts of the pictures. But I end up forggeting what is where! So now I'm starting to name my layers (oh the joy of organization!) and I end up with names like "lineart eye mouth arms tshirt". Well, I figure it out that if you pick the first letters of each of those words you can start to create nice names! The previous example gives us... humm.. LEMAT! Cool! Now I wonder... What should I christen with this cool name? ^^

...my take on it... (first though)
It's a piece that shows the possible outcome of man(and woman)kind being to relient on technology and eventually becomes so enveloped in it that it literally takes us all over....

YAY! lol

I dunno, thoguht that popped into my head, even if you never thought that at all, that's what I get from it lol....

it looks like the red wires are going for the nips.... lol.... sorry.... just noticed that...

Also... OMG DETAIL!!!! WOW i AM AMAZED AND UNWORTHY TO SEE SUCH AN AWESOME WORK OF ART!!!!!!!!!!

^^know what I mean?

Great job on this, I am very impressed by your skill... and jealous too haha

If my friends did a waking up prank like this on me, i'd be pretty shocked to But jokes aside, i think the expression on Trent is very convincing. Pure terror and its plain to see why. I couldn't sit here and count each wire yet you've drawn, colored and shaded every single one of them. Your just unstoppable

lunarsparks In reply to HobitaChan [2007-09-14 19:16:22 +0000 UTC]

Ahh thanks sweetie! I used Corel Painter IX.5. I scanned in my pencil drawing and just painted on top of it. I used Photoshop Elements just to adjust things throughout. I mainly use Painter though as I don't have the full program of Photoshop. The layers always come in handy in Painter, otherwise it is just a case of trying to keep your patience. If you have any other questions just ask. Thanks for the amazing comment and fav.

HobitaChan In reply to lunarsparks [2007-09-14 20:32:29 +0000 UTC]

Ah okay! Cool ^^ is it hard to use Corel Painter IX.5? and is it hard in learning first? and the wires throughout your submitted picture, have you drawn every single wire in that photo? xD Cause that seem rly hard to do, but very impressive I love the colors you use in your submitted work, I guess those colors come from Corel Painter IX.5.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lunarsparks In reply to HobitaChan [2007-09-14 22:41:24 +0000 UTC]

No not at all. It's just a case of using it and learning as you go along. I use a pen tablet with it as well which helps. It can be hard to get the effect you want with only a mouse.

I drew every wire individually because of the look I wanted. The same method may not be for everyone. I seem to complicate things for myself, lol. The thing is, I enjoy doing it that way and so in the end, it's not difficult to tackle. You've just got to make sure that when you are doing a picture that you keep it fun for yourself and so it keeps your interest. With the colours, I chose them myself. Corel Painter has a spectrum of colours that you can handpick from. There is not a limited set of colours ... it's entirely up to you what they are (you could probably match the same colours in other programs if you wanted). Corel Painter is designed to silmulate the effects of traditional methods of painting but you have the freedom to adapt settings for yourself. Plus, your own style will affect the results as well. It's always worth taking a look at these programs to see if they are right for you. Then, just keep using them. That way you can get better at the program and your work will improve the more you practice.

haha wow! a lot of useful info I got there! wow really every single wire by yourself, thats impressive, may have taken a lot of your patience.. but I recognize myself in you hehe. I like making things dificult for myself too sometimes, that way int he end you can really be proud of what you've accomplished

Oh My...wow um wow... I was not extpecting to come arcoss this in my devations. I question you sanity on the amount of wires in this XD. Well first of all you without a doubt captured the emotion and I must say hes petrified for sure. If had to think of a story to go with this I would say its some sort of supper hero story. Like he works at some type of power plant but instead of toxic waste hes falls into the wires and gets his supper power. The amount of detail in this is massive and every wire is outlined and colored to perfection. I'm still at aww just looking at it and wish I had that kind of time and patiences . Now I know now why you haven't submitted anything for a while lol. I really can't find a word to describe this other then completely amazing.

I'm very happy to cause that kind of reaction!! Your super hero take on it is cool as well. I like that.

Lol, yep this was the reason for a lack of deviations. I had to get it finished before I did anything else. The wires took ages ... . Thanks for everything.

DarkFang1990 In reply to lunarsparks [2007-09-15 18:49:48 +0000 UTC]

Did you use any short cuts for the wires or was it done by just stting there and coloring each of them one by one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lunarsparks In reply to DarkFang1990 [2007-09-15 22:42:20 +0000 UTC]

I coloured each one. I wanted it to be possible to trace a wire on it's journey through the pic. I actually saved a version of this at each major stage ... so maybe at one point I'll be able to show them as some kind of animation or something. If I ever figure out how, of course.

I think I might lose what patience and sanity I have if I tride to do that but I'll tell ya it paid off because it adds so much more to the picture. It would be really cool to see how you did it in stages

I'm gonna make up my own story behind it and compose it now!

There were gangsters and poor old trent got caught up in them whilst working for MI6. These wern't your average gangsters no they had a proper hideout with all different scientists in the gang. They wanted these scientists to make the most painful way of torturing someone who opposed the gansters. What thses scientists came up with was live wires. They would pump millions of volts of electricity into these wires that made them live and would grab hold of anything it touched whilst electricuting these peopl ... ok it's not a kind of tourture anymore it's more like painful instand death but ya know.

your picture is real powerful so it just make an impression in me ^_^ CONGRATULATIONS!!!

kikitue

sniperkitten313 In reply to lunarsparks [2007-09-18 00:24:01 +0000 UTC]

depends....its the amperage of an electrical shock that kills you quickly, not the volts...so if the amps were of a low enough rating it is possible to survive short doses of high volts....volts WOULD burn though, so death could be possible from third degree burns....

*rereads that* good lord I'm a nerd...sorry about that. *pushes glasses up*
