Description A nastay little organ chart for your viewing pleasure.

These are the organs that are doubles in nereids and taurs and possibly some harpies (harpy bodies don't have enough mass to contain double organ systems).Β
No intestines. Anuids do not excrete digested waste in the posterior; it is regurgitated in the form of milky, smooth crystals. Stomachs are pumped with oxygen, therefore a live organism in an anuid's stomach will not suffocate until they are pulverized by voluntary contractions in the gut.

The longest a person has lived in an anuid stomach was 15 days, and it was in Gaspar, because he forgot they were inside his posterior gut, breathing oxygen from small gastrobronchiols (specialized air tubes that branch down from the lungs into the stomach lining) and eating chewed and swallowed food.

The anterior stomach is filled until it is emptied into the posterior upon the arrival of more food or voluntary movement. An anuid with both stomachs full can forgo eating for several days. This is often why harpies have a tendency to be voracious, as they digest food very quickly and hold less to store.

The esophagus is lined with strong cilla that move in waves to bring food down or digested crystals up.

A mention of anuids and the consumption of humans; most anuids consume or utilize human flesh, and use it to trade for goods. Live humans are less desirable than prepared human limbs and organs, which are smoked and dried or pickled. These human parts can be traded for goods such as stoneware, blacksmith items, leather, baskets, etc. Is this ethical? No, but neither is the usage of anuid parts in the human markets, so it until both of the species respect each other, this will go on.

Anyways, just some tidbits for ya about Holo! Now if only you had some comic pages to go by : D

I don't think you expected n actual answer, but here I am! Likely the anterior stomach as it would be more likely to build up gas as the posterior stomach does not lead to a digestive system beyond itself.

Oooo, this is good to look at. I don't think I'd need to do this with any of my creatures. ...mmm, not as far as I know. So I'm impressed.

Very interesting system. I'm always interested in the way people build their hybrids. I might do something like this at some point for my hybrids.

no wonder they eat a lot when they have two stomachs

I'm glad you like it! It's super fun to come up with these things (as long as it all ties together and makes sense, hehehe....)

I love the secondary heart and lungs, I was actually wondering about that since I discovered your art and world!

It must be strange to not have an anus.. Would the posterior stomach have a pH similar to that of mammalian intestines, or would all of the digestive enzymes be active at a lower pH? Without intestines, how would one deal with carbohydrates or lipids? Just plop those enzymes into one of the stomachs and modify for acidic environments?
I kind of wondered what the other body would be doing with its space. Good to know it was doubling up on important organ systems.

Ah, there are no enzymes or digestive fluid. It's more of an osmosis process of nutrients going into the bloodstream. I forgot to mention that a lot of waste is lost through perspiration as well, so anuids are very glittery after a large meal (because it crystallizes on their skin) c: It just lessens the size of the waste that is then regurgitated, though some anuids end up with rather large stomach stones that have to be removed...

I cannot fathom digestion without enzymes! Aha, but that sounds fascinating. A detailed guide to anuid digestion would be a most interesting read. Well at least for me

Uh oh, Mad Scientist Luna is doing research into making anuids irl. We are doomed.
Also, next time someone goes to the anuid market, can you pick me up some human-rinds? I will gladly repay next Tuesday.

Oh yes, just research, I totally haven't already made a few : D

Ech, sure, not sure what use they're for other than unhealthy fatty snacks though.

Wwwwwelp, Imma stay in the bunker a few days and keep an eye on the news...

And I wouldn't exactly expect to find human in the health food aisle. Like any other weird food around the world though, I'm sure we would be marketed as an aphrodisiac.
