Description
BRUSH SETTINGS AND DOWNLOADS ARE AVAILABLE HERE
Why do you need to fill the Multiply layer with white? Why the Screen layer with black?
The layer mode Mutiply removes white, and intensifies the darker colors of the shading. Brushes won't blend as well with a transparent canvas (the PTS default), and so Multiply makes the white not visible, but its blending effects are still visible.
Screen mode is basically the same thing, except it removes black. It blends the same way that Multiply does.
Why do you blend like that, instead of using a blur tool?
A blur tool is a very generic tool that removes the characteristic strokes of the brush, making the painting look extremely boring and casual. Try out different directions of your brush strokes, and practice blending the colors more naturally. Also, blur tools are often overused greatly by inexperienced artists, making the shading very undefined and unrealistic.

its like a hard-edged shading. in this case its pretty much the basic shading i did before going back and refining it.
