Rosie was gifted immortality by the god Odin, but when Odin began to speak to his new Valkyrie more often then to his own wife Freya, Freya bestowed a little "gift" to Rosie. This gift prevents Rosie from having any magical abilities more than her aura reading - which took quite the number of years to acquire after this gift had been given to her.

This little gift is kept alive by Rosie's own energy, easily draining the girl as she continues to do her work. (Rosie usually has to be in bed about an hour after dinner so that she can be up in the morning for breakfast - once asleep she really can't be woken up that easily) - if she fights anyone or uses excessive speed*, she usually has to take a nap between lunch and dinner just to remain awake to cook dinner, or to do breakfast the next day.

This little gift also does one more thing - every twenty one and a half years, or when she decides to go to sleep**, Rosie's form is reduced to that of a five year old, with usually about as much skill as one. While she can still think as though she were her true age, she talks like she were a five year old (in whichever language she happens to be using), she cannot fight, and cannot move like she used to - in other words, all the fighting skills she learned she has to re-learn, and the speed that she had, she has to regain (she can't get anywhere above average until about 21 years in this cycle (16 years after she turned five)). Freya gave her enough of a body so that she could still support herself, such as cook with the same level of experience as she had gained throughout the years (another reason why Rosie enjoys cooking so much), but she really can't do anything more. Rosie usually can tell when this time is coming because she will have a great amount of speed for the first six months before she turns into a five year old once more, but even then, she's only as fast as the fastest human - (which means if someone is faster than the fastest human, they can easily beat Rosie in a race - she usually relies on strategy to win a fight, and there are quite a few times where that doesn't work. Despite her age, strategy with a new opponent is not always the easiest thing for her (she is only a cook after-all). Prior to that, she's just like the average human.

A while back, she had a lover, who was a human - from japan - and he had picked her up when she was in her teenage years, at the time they looked about the same age (15). The years with him were the best years of her life (at least that's what she believes). He would love her when she was about 16 until she turned into her five year old self, and then he would play with her as if she were his child until he could love her once more. He was a very patient man and he loved her unconditionally, not minding the age gap between them (nor Rosie's "gift").

Rosie, while her body sleeps, usually goes up to the heavens to be with him. He continues to try to get her to love another man, so that she could spend her days on Earth being taken care of, but she insists that she could never find someone as understanding and loving as he.

Rosie is still unaware that Freya was the one who created this man for her, a second gift for the girl, as she had begun to take pity on the child as she had still watched her husband try to converse with her - it also made Odin leave the girl alone - Rosie never particularly liked Odin anyway - "who wants to be with an ancient fart who thinks he's all that anyway?" Rosie was caught saying once or twice. (Freya agreed (because she was mad at Odin at the time)) Odin went back to his wife for forgiveness, and has since left Rosie alone to do as she wishes, completely forgetting about the girl to which he gave the Valkyrie gift.

Asking her age is not advised, because she doesn't quite remember, she'll tell you the age she looks and nothing more (as she remembers events not years), you can roughly estimate her time period at points depending on the events she speaks to you about, but she isn't one to volunteer information, or bring up events as she doesn't particularly like the cycle that she's stuck in, and having attempted suicide more than once, she's found that there's really no way to escape it, and has finally settled with what she is, giving up on the thought of living a normal life with the man she loved in Valhalla.

*This excessive speed only applies to the last six months where she can actually attain the excessive speed (she cannot attain the excessive speed before that.)

**When she falls asleep, she will turn five, and when she wakes up, she will be five for five to ten minutes after waking up - then both her body and mind wake up and she turns back to what ever age she is currently at in the cycle.
