Not too bad. I'm not a realism artist myself so i can't offer up any help. Sorry. But like everyone below has said, practice makes perfect. Keep on working at it.

for the first realistic picture i've done since junior high. i'm VERY HAPPY. not perfect, yeah practice makes perfect. I'm a bit ocd, so it bothers me a bit, 'cause i know its not completely correct in the least, but if you have some pointers, that would help a lot!

I realized the notes section doesn't send. Here are some things to keep in mind. The main measurement tool for the head is an eye length. The head, on average, is 5 eye lengths wide,and the eyes are set in the 2nd and 4th measurements. The eyes are one eye length apart. The length of the lips is from the middle of the eye to the other middle of the eye. The bottom of the nose, to the bottom of lower lip is one eye length. The chin is the same length as the lips. The nose is one eye length in width. From the corner of the eye to the top of thee nose wing is one eye length. The bottom of lower lip to the chin is an eye length. You use this sights I mentioned to map a face looking directly at you. You only have to lay dots or ticks. From here you can work in confidence because a foundation of right proportions have been laid. Next you study the reference, and apply the correct shapes. Sometimes, you go a hair short or longer to get the personality. I hope it helps. If you have questions, or need more info, let me know.

wow that's a lot of information, thank you I understand it, i am actually trying that when I try to draw Gibs from NCIS. However it seems like its not going very well, i think its because i'm impatient. DX Thank you I will keep this in mind for new realistic pictures.
