Chapter Two
Time to Dine

       The driver opened the door for the family. The girl held her father's hand as he led the way through the crowd. Jonathan smiles at Sebastian and puts an arm around him, as a father would. The boy looked up at the man and gave a smile. Sebastian was finally feeling accepted into the family, rather than just a servant. It hadn't bothered him before, but he felt his heart jump when Jonathan put his arm around him.
       "Would you like to welcome everyone here Sebastian?" Jonathan asked as they walked. He spun Adrianna around like she was dancing up to the stage. "And you Adrianna, how about you cut the ribbon today?" he asked laughing. Jonathan always wanted to be a care free father to his daughter, and he's starting to want to make Sebastian feel like a true son. He was giving him more and more control of his house, and he was actually beginning to teach the boy about the company. He was going to take the boy aside that night and talk to him about what would be coming in the future, and what he expected of him as a son.
       "I really get to cut the ribbon daddy?" she asked smiling at her father.
       "Only if Sebastian welcomes everyone here and makes the speech today."
       "Please Sebastian," the girl looks up at Sebastian, her bright eyes looking up at him. She wanted so bad to cut the ribbon this time. Her father also looked at Sebastian. His eyes were darker then his daughters, but they were the same none the less. He was hoping that Sebastian would cave and do the speech. He was really thinking over it.
       "Alright…" Sebastian smiled, "I'll make the speech."
       The girl let go of her father's hand and hugged Sebastian around the waist. "Thank you Sebastian!" she laughed as she pressed her head into his stomach. He gently wrapped his arms around her. They were on the stage, and a group "aw" ensued. Sebastian let go of the girl and went to the podium. "I'd like to welcome everyone here today," he begins, "We're very happy to have you here at the official opening of Kain's Fancy Child…" Sebastian gave a smile, "Dad was running a little short on creative ideas it seems." The crowd laughed; however, it took Adrianna giggling to make Jonathan crack a smile. Sebastian continued, "But seriously, we hope to make this restaurant a great success, making a fancy meal available to everyone, as well as easy for everyone with our kid friendly menu, a menu for teenagers, and the ever wonderful adult menu." Sebastian smiles, "We hope that this will be the first of many restaurants, and now if my sister Adrianna will cut the ribbon, which will officially open the restaurant, my father will give a tour of the establishment and we'll all be able to eat." Sebastian stepped aside letting his sister take the stage.
       The girl was holding the ceremonial scissors, which seemed almost too big for the ten-year-old. She still managed to cut the light blue ribbon that was strung in front of the doors. The crowd cheered, and Sebastian took the scissors from his sister, who had them taken from him by the store manager. Everyone's pictures were taken once more before Jonathan gave the media a tour of the restaurant. The first place they stopped was the game room, where the children could play before eating, and while they were waiting for their parents to finish dining if the parents allowed them too. Sebastian picked Adrianna up and threw her into the ball pit. She gave a delighted squeal and came out from under the balls giggling. She grabbed Sebastian's hand and pulled him down into the balls with her. Jonathan paused as the media watched the two play for a moment. He gave a laugh, "How about we leave those two to play, and finish up the tour? Sebastian, watch your sister while I finish the tour please."
       "Alright dad, no problem," Sebastian said grabbing his sister around the waist as she tried to get away from him. Some of the media people quickly jotted down some notes about Jonathan being a real family man, and his kids being down to earth. It would be a great story for a later time. Jonathan managed to move the media into other rooms of the restaurant as Sebastian continued to try to catch his sister, who had managed to slip from his grasp. Adrianna jumped on Sebastian from behind, causing him to fall face first into the ball pit. She was hugging him around the shoulders, panting slightly as they had been playing in the ball pit for quite a while. Sebastian laughed gently and moved her so that he could carry her with him. Sebastian walked with her to catch up with their father.
       The girl looked up at Sebastian, and gave him a soft kiss before they had managed to catch up to their father. Sebastian looked down at the girl and smiled gently. He kissed her forehead, still wanting to hold himself back, worried about what could possibly happen if he fell in love with an angel, and a fallen one at that. He stroked her hair as he continued to walk with her. The girl seemed a little flustered that he had only kissed her forehead, but to her, it was a start. She didn't know exactly how to go about being with Sebastian as she did love him so much. She had such a crush on him that her heart practically belonged to the older male.
       Jonathan was just finishing up when Sebastian walked up next to him with Adrianna. The media was almost immediately dismissed upon Sebastian's entrance. Jonathan took Sebastian and Adrianna to be seated. Sebastian sat across from Adrianna, who was sitting on her own, despite being so tired.
       As they sat down Jonathan cleared his throat a bit and looked at Sebastian, who was examining the menu designated for teenagers.
       "Sebastian," Jonathan started, "I've been meaning to talk to you about your role in the house."
       Sebastian looked up from the menu, having already decided what he was going to order, "What do you mean father?"
       "I want you to be able to take over for me if something happens… I'm going to include you in my will. The condition is that you take care of your sister, that she will be treated well and aloud to remain in the mansion if anything were to happen to me… I just feel like you'd be able to take better care of it, however Adrianna would need some control of the company of course…"
       "This is such an honor father," Sebastian says in complete surprise. When he was adopted/hired, he was told that he probably wouldn't get any of the company, and when Cindy, Jonathan's wife, died, Sebastian took a lot of abuse. Jonathan was always yelling, he took his grief in anger. When Sebastian wasn't being yelled at, the little girl had her head pressed in his stomach crying for her mother, because her father, for a while, decided that he didn't want to see her. Adrianna looked a lot like her father, and the memory of his wife was just too much to take if he were to be looking at his beloved daughter. That was how Sebastian had grown so close and attached to Adrianna.
       Jonathan smiled at Sebastian and put a hand on his shoulder. He was becoming a real father to the demon, and the demon actually felt accepted. He opened his mouth to ask if perhaps he could date Adrianna, but at the waiter came up to take down drink orders, Sebastian thought better of it. He looked over at Adrianna who seemed to be studying him. Sebastian knew the girl cared for him, but the kiss, it could've just been one from a sister to her brother, or it could've been more. Sebastian didn't suddenly didn't want to assume anything as he watched the little angel. The girl was so innocent, and pure, he had already been burned thanks to his stupidity. Adrianna would be able to control that in the future, but first, he would have to teach her about it, and now just wasn't the time for that. Now didn't seem to be the time for anything as his mind slowly wandered back to the lightening strike at the house.
       Jonathan and Sebastian made small talk, with Adrianna piping in her opinion as often as she could; however, she wasn't interested in the male's conversation. The girl was anxious, she didn't know what was going on, but she wanted to get home. She felt like something was happening there, and she just needed the security that it would be alright.
       Sebastian watched his sister from across the table as he ate; he was no longer tasting what he put in his mouth as he was trying to read what Adrianna was thinking. Her deep thoughts always worried him due to the frequency of them being upsetting ideas. He wanted to pick her up, and take her to distract her, but there was nothing that he could do. They were both still eating, and it was troublesome to try to do anything else. She was always worrying him. As a big brother, it was his job to ensure that she was feeling happy and secure, as a servant it was his duty. He no longer was sure which he was to her, the line which was their relationship was completely blurred.
       Jonathan was completely oblivious to the relationship between the two. He didn't notice many things when it came to things like relationships, but he had once warned his daughter against crushing on people that worked for them. Now that Sebastian was being considered part of the family, Adrianna's feelings were rapidly swelling for Sebastian. She had suppressed them for so long, and now, they were growing out of control. This didn't mean that the girl didn't try to hide them. The kiss that she had given to Sebastian had been a complete accident. She didn't mean for him to feel her lips on his, it just sort of happened. She would do better next time, she decided, she didn't want him to figure it out yet. She was too young for a man like Sebastian, so she thought.
       Jonathan smiled, "So it seems we are finally a happy little family," he laughed, "And… I'm thinking about dating again."
       Sebastian choked on what he was swallowing. He stared at Jonathan. Adrianna dropped her fork, which made a loud clatter, and stared at her father.

Time to Dine
