said the night wind to the little lamb.tonight at a christmas concert, they sang one of my favorite christmas carols: "do you hear what I hear?" i have always liked this song, it starts slow and quiet and grows grand and powerful. but what is of course significant is the progression of who gains the awareness of christ. first the night wind, something ephemeral, purely natural. then the little lamb, a lowly beast, food for other more mighty creatures. then the shepherd boy, poor and humble and simple. then the king, then people everywhere. but it all starts with the night wind whispering into the lamb's ear. "look at that star. it means hope."
i am not a christian, but finding hope in the darkest hour, for the meek and small... this is something that means a great deal to me.
(I wish I had the patience and tenacity to finish this picture. I'm sure it deserves it. =/ this is all opencanvas.)
