Description
OMFG done....This is basically a blatant rip off of one of ~riftryu 's images that was partially inspired by a dream I had as well. The dream reminded me of Rifty's image so I basically mashed the two together and now I'm calling it a giftart because I owe her too much.
After too many hours, I wanted to see this done so badly that I'm posting it as is.... but I plan touching this up and fixing some things like making that sea creature a lot darker because it's supposed to be part of the background...
For now, I'm tired and I have a long weekend ahead of me... so take it easy guys and enjoy the rarity of an update.
Five, Bonus, and Rheesk are all
Art is mine.
Edit:
Updated with a slightly reworked version. More shading, more consistent shades... always with the shading... I'm done with this for a while, and I promise you this looks better in real life.
Double Edit:
Image fixed up a bit by ~riftryu <3

This one is very nice. Minor anatomy tweaks needed but the mood and emotion are the finest I've seen from you. One word: Maor.

It's just something that my friend invented. She's a very creative person, and it's her character. She doesn't post recently becuase her computer is bad. But you can see her work here [link]

This is nothing short of incredible! Not only the thought behind it, but the way you made it jump off the page is really impressive - the shading is so smooth, velvety or slick or bristly where it needs to be. Perfect.

Nice work!
Hey,...by the way,..it took me awhile to get back to your last note here (I was in deep "crunch mode"), but after I finally had the chance to realize you had sent me one, and answer it, it looks like you may have missed it... Is there a better way I should contact you than through DA's note system?
Nimrond ^_^

Thanks!
You're kiddin me? I didn't get any notes from you! Ah crap... Well, I guess you could check your "outbox" in the notes system and resend it, or copy and paste it to an e-mail and send it to me that way. Bryan_mischke@yahoo.com.
I'm sorry about all this... I hope you didn't say too much! D:

Yeah,..I sent it on July 7th. It was in Reply to your 'Okay' note.... You can check to see if you got it in your DA notes.... Personally, I find this new DA interface a little hard to navigate,...so it's possible that either of us may have missed something somewhere along the line....
No biggie, though,..I just sent it to the email above as you recommended!
By the way,..you can go on the [link] site now and upload the newest version of the revised Welcome Booklet under the Game area,..it's good stuff!

Awesome! I got that e-mail (almost deleted it on accident too! aaaarg)
I'll try to get around to answering it when I can... I just got back from about a week of army stuff... and I'm recooperating at the moment... :C
And man... that website is so epic. Good job man, it really seems like you're work is a reality now.

I got back from Gen Con OK,..and it was a really, really, great trip, very productive with all kinds of great business contacts and a really good reception by the general public for the game...
I'm in the midst of schedule crunch madness right now, but as soon as I have the chance I'll send you a real email with like,...real detail and such...

I guess you were having a slight case of what is know as Surrealism old chap. The realist portrayal of a dream was a key factor in the Surrealism period. Another might have inspired you but it was your view nun the less.
I always knew that you had an awesome gift in drawing detail and tone man. In other words⦠your contrast is just bicthing man.
Great giftart man.

I found out that anyone who doesn't draw furry doesn't care about this what-so-ever. lol
Regardless... there was a lot of symbolism behind this... and I enjoyed Rifty's interpretation that I based this off of as well, she gets a lot of the credit in this too.
Thanks man. :>

Not really... more surreal. All my "disturbing" dreams are that way, nothing ever really feels like a nightmare, even when by all rights it should be.
I've been working on that one dragon lady drawing again though... I have a bit of scenery now, but I'm still fine-tuning everything as usual.
Thank you!

I should have looked at this a while ago but wow. This is very amazing.

It's okay... I'm sure I'll eventually find it in my heart to forgive you.
You wouldn't believe how much better this looks in real life... at least twice as smooth in certain areas, and scanners have a way of magnifying mistakes. I still like it and I think the desired effect was achieved here quite nicely... It's another one of those "almost got it" images I'm notorious for.

This is extremely dark, creepy, and weird.
I LOVE IT.
YES SNAKES.
Despite your 'Ahh I'm not done'-ness I think the shading on Five is very clean and shiney. It reeks awesomeness like a copius after-gym class odor, actually. I like the thighs and arms best :>
The viney sticky goo-some stuff is also very cool. Kudos on your excellent work!

Lupinator In reply to Luna-v [2008-02-21 03:47:59 +0000 UTC]
I actually really like the dark, creepy, and psychodelic stuff... it's just a lot of effort to draw... and I lack such effort typically.
What does copius mean??
But thank you Luna... :>

Yeah... I was incoherent there... oh well...
I'm about to upload a photo of this image to my scraps btw... You can see how smooth things are and it's contrast is a little more true to life except in the areas it glared--but... the contrast is lessened a bit. The yellowish light I used for illumination is annoying too...

its a scanner, they suck. end of story.
you should still see if you can get cables and such for that camera of yours, no sense in leaving it to sit there not being used, besides, cameras are useful tools for more than just taking pictures of art

...Wow. Man, I fell backwards in my chair almost!
This is immensely glorious...
I can't stop staring at her ears, muzzle and snout... you've nailed the structure of her facial features extremely well! I love her grin/scowl.
On the topic of structure, I'm in awe of the anatomy here, her legs looks sooo smooth and toned, very well built... and I love how her feet seem to be gripping the pole! O:
NOW your shading is GODLY. I am overwhelmed by all the details, but in a very pleasing way! I love the contrast here!
That monster, man, Bryan. That thing looks real, and terrifying! D:
.... I'm so awe struck right now. Wonderful work.
This leaves me eagerly awaiting more Lupinator epic-ness.

Lupinator In reply to kimmie-kmh [2008-02-08 09:15:26 +0000 UTC]
That means a lot haha... oh man, thanks.
Really though... this isn't what I exactly wanted, but it's still pretty nice all considering. I think I really surprised some people with this... and I surprised myself a little too... I started the image while I was in Africa... thought I lost it forever, and then I managed to get it back. I came back to it and decided I was going to go all out on this beast... and about 24 some odd hours of work... well... here you have it.
The muscles on here aren't very accurate, and the character isn't really supposed to be muscular either... That was a little bit of a mistake there, but I also like the way it makes the image a little more tense too...
Haha... well... thanks for all the warming words... I really appreciate that... and I hope you understand why I'm so slow on the art front... it's just a lot of time to invest...
