OMFG done....This is basically a blatant rip off of one of ~riftryu 's images that was partially inspired by a dream I had as well. The dream reminded me of Rifty's image so I basically mashed the two together and now I'm calling it a giftart because I owe her too much.
After too many hours, I wanted to see this done so badly that I'm posting it as is.... but I plan touching this up and fixing some things like making that sea creature a lot darker because it's supposed to be part of the background...
For now, I'm tired and I have a long weekend ahead of me... so take it easy guys and enjoy the rarity of an update.

Updated with a slightly reworked version. More shading, more consistent shades... always with the shading... I'm done with this for a while, and I promise you this looks better in real life.

Your pencil work is so lush and gorgeous (in spite of the obvious darkness to the picture). I especially like how you did the hilighting on the ears and arms.

Haha... thank you very much, it means a lot to get support like that, and it keeps me going as an artist. Take note that these things come with a lot of time, patients, review, and overview though, so it's a long process, and honestly, not to be envied all that much. I edited this image about three times after the initial scan...
Hmmm... you are right about the darkness... I'm looking at it on another computer at the moment and it very dark, but it looks a lot lighter on my own computer for some reason. That's a little sad, but it still looks somewhat decent... If anything, my real beef is with how grainy the textures come out when scanned... there's not much you can do about it honestly, but it looks a bit better in real life and under the right light. I can promise that.

Good Gawd man! This is incredible...If I could shade 1/10th that well I might fancy myself a good artist. Can never figure out where the shadows go, heh heh... Anyways, kudos on the great art!

It's a process... a long and laboring one. I found that I can keep myself motivated to finish when I not only like the concept, but have someone who wants to see it finish... Sometimes a little support goes a long ways... and gifts like this are always good motivators to do your best too. :>

Oh my god...
To be honest I have it in my tabs for a while now, trying to figure out what to say. I've been staring at it for quite some time and all those details and the fact alone that it's one of your pencil art made me all excited and happy and warm inside.
Really, everything you've said about it aside- it's awesome on so many levels. First- you already know how much I love and adore your skills with pencils, but here you proved that you're not only great at shading and texture- you're great at effects too. I have that scary creature in the background in mind- how the light coming from that orb on it's antennae is placed on it's head and neck (and it's tail on the right)...the guy almost seems real, I feel the urge to poke him.
And Five...you did an amazing job on her. The anatomy- especially on the legs- is great, you're improving quickly (cause' I remember that you said some time ago that you have some problems with female anatomy). I love how her feet seem to claw at that cross (can't ignore the wood texture!) and how her tail is placed around it...and the head is in interesting angle, with her hair covering most of the face- yet I can still see the Bonus-ey smile! The hands are nice too, I like how you did the fingers especially.
And and and...you even drew Rheesk.
Oh man, I can't thank you enough for this. I mean, I'm always touched when people sacrifice their time to draw me a giftart, but this...I can't even imagine how much time you've put into this.

And oh....I really like it better in the original than in the flipped version. Dunno, I think the composition is fine. I know that you're your stereotypical worst critic, but you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. And no, it's not ass-kissing.

Haha... You were worth every bit of the time and energy I put into this... It was a long time coming. I just wanted to give you something that was at least somewhat reflective of the many gifts you deserve. But... thank you so much, for everything.

Wow! This is amazing! 
The detail is so rich and I absolutely love the tonal values displayed in this... the balance of black and white helps to make the figure stand out. I've said it once before but I'll say it again, your anatomy skills are spot on and... an angler fish! Woo hoo! Those guys are so darn ugly/scary, I like 'em.

This isn't an angler fish per se, either. I refed one, but only for the teeth and antenna (or aerial in brit speak). Otherwise... it's just a fancy pants deep sea monster thingy...

It's... decently priced. It can range from 7 to 15 bucks for a pad or 15 pieces of paper... but, I've found a great brand for $7 that I'm very happy with. I pretty much just reserve it for the images I have finer intentions for.
