Here are the two alpha wolves (alpha male to the left, alpha female to the right) walking in parallel while squabbling a little with each other.The lower ranking wolf to the far left thinks they might be after him and goes into a submissive pose. The other wolves in the background just enjoy the show.
These are Eurasian wolves at Tierpark Sababurg, Germany. The photo was taken one week ago when the breeding season was on its apex. We were there again yesterday and the wolves were calm and exhausted, so it's over already.
Oh, and sorry about not having uploaded anything for so long. I'm just too busy right now...

They did have a few carcasses in the enclosure, but I'm pretty sure that the blood is from the female's period and the mounting attempts.
