It's based of of a Manga called Shingeki no Kyojin or Attack on Titan. The story is about a human civilization that is trapped behind walls to protect themselves from the cannibalistic giants that inhabit the earth. (The giants are malformed, grotesque versions of humans.
The manga starts off with a Colossal Giant tearing down the wall. And my guess is that this pony represents the Collossal Giant. Here is the page that resembles it.
