In theory, they should be, but mechanically, no.

You can make a Farsight army slightly better at melee by dispensing with Fire Warriors entirely and using the Battlesuit Spearhead rule to its absolute limits and taking XV8s as Troops units. They're tougher and punch slightly harder.
