Description

I mused with the concept of polar opposites as I listened to an old song “Diamonds & Rust”. An idea popped into my head, and I wondered if I can somehow make 2 very different elements coexist as one piece, yet still retaining their individual uniqueness. That is how Fire & Ice came into being.

Fire :
With a hand sewn miniature book as canvas, this element is an assemblage of rustic leather, coffee stained papers, brass stampings, vintage clock gears, patina, paint, leadfree solder, brass wires, chains, a variety of Jasper, Czech, glass, metal beads and a beautiful brass Medieval Dragon. The book measures 2.25(H) x 1.75(W), with a thickness of a little more than half an inch. Inside, you will find 156 writable coffee-stained pages. The chain is 30 inches in circumference, plus another 6 inches from bail (red Jasper stone) to end of bookchain.

Ice :
This element is made from a pair of brass wings, an Amazonite bead, Czech beads, rustic leather cord, leadfree solder, brass wires, patina and a beautiful electroplated mint green crystal shard. The chain is 16 inches in circumference, plus another 4 inches from bail to end of crystal shard.

*This necklace is made as a 2-in-1 adornment, but can also be worn as individual pieces. (simply pry the hooks slightly to divide the pieces)
