Again, at the request of friends. I've never played the Half-Life series, though it's been on my list for a while, now... I'm thinking I should fix it, soon.Well, thanks to the wonderful Wikipedia , I got an idea of the plot, as well as some info on the monsters.
After perusing the monsters, I elected to draw that Ichthyosaur/Ichthycanthus-thing. Just because, I mean.... man, is it uuuugly. And as fate would have it, all the references I found seemed to contradict each other in some fashion... which was odd. So I kinda made some stuff up as I went. I'll blame most differences on the fact that the thing's mouth is actually semi-closed, as opposed to hanging open like a barn door. And I tilted the tail fin-thing, 'cause that was one feature the references couldn't agree on. So now it's angled. ^_^
And look! I drew a person! ...ok, so it's only Freeman's legs. From underwater. But I think there's hope for me yet as far as peoples.

I have played Half-Life 2! And.... My god! WHY DID I NOT PLAY THIS GAME SOONER??! It was awesome! I am currently playing through HL-1, HL-Blue Shift, and HL- Opposing Forces. ....Yeah, I got turned into an HL fan about 2 minutes into the second game. >.>

I'm STILL scared of this Enemy! I just can't get over it's scareness he keeps jumpscaring me every time I'm in the water.
But thank god he's never seen again in HL2 (Except the Teleport Scene)

It really doesn't help that the movement in HL1 is all so jerky and quick. I cursed this guy out A LOT because of that. And yes! NEVER HAVE TO FIGHT HIM AGAIN IN HL2. Thanks, Valve!

That stupid jump scaring fish enemy is gone forever in HL2 (Except the teleport) and the Episodes.

These monsters are quite frightening.Unlike other monsters who attack when you are close to them;he is long ragged;attacking you when you are less expecting.When i meet him;i'm just saying:"He's just a normal fish so deal with it!".It have the pupils of a Trachemys Scripta Elegans turtle or it's just me?

Yes, you are cuz I absolutely HATE the Ichthyosaur and it made me stay out of the water for a while. >_<

It's not scary until the point in which you're underwater and Β have no idea where to go and then it suddenly appears behind you wanting to hunt you for lunch.. That situation which requires you to swim the fuck away and watch out for your oxygen..
OH, and don't forget the Barnacles.....

You'll never know how many nightmares I've had of this creature.
How many times I've subjected myself to fighting it to try and overcome my fears.
I was six years old, and already didn't like water when I saw this monster... I couldn't go near water, confidently for days on in. I still get scared of going into water any deeper than my knees.
And it's all because of this... Thing. And yet, something keeps me fascinated by it, and drawn to it, despite my mind telling me otherwise.

Glad I'm not the only one.
Since this post I've gained a keen appreciation for sharks. I'm still utterly terrified of them though.
Especially the Ichthyosaur. I'd rather be face to face with a basking shark. (Which I know doesn't eat large things.)

These things are so cute. I know something's wrong with me.
But it's the drawing style that attracted me, very fine detail and texture. Only thing I don't like is the digital elements, I think if you'd follow the traditional style all way through this would turn out more interesting
But it's great anyway, and would take hours to draw
Also, one last recommendation - try to make the water reflection on the monster coloured like his skin, but lighter (instead of blue lines) I think it would give the drawing more depth

I don't really like the digital elements, either. I went with them because a) I wanted colour, and b) it was faster than doing it in pencil.
And yes, thank you for pointing out the water reflection lines. I (obviously) didn't use any references and was thinking mostly of pool water... which always just equals "blue" to me. Like, everything about it- reflection lines included. So it's nice to have someone catch that. Depth's something I always have trouble with, so pointers are awesome.

I think all you really need to do, is replace the colour of the lines with a lighter colour of the skin.
But I love the drawing. Great job anyway

Well well well, Ichthyosaur, we meet again, I know in our last visits i made you distroy a apache helicopter with a glitch, now i spawn you in Gmod, Nonono, don't worry, it'll be ok. I won't hurt you!
PS. Half life 2 players, find water, and put in console, sv_cheats 1, then type in give npc_ichthyosaur, then type in noclip, fly out, turn around, and a itchyosaur is there! It only attacks when your upclose though, and that sux.

The fact that your swimming with an alien shark thing, and the noise that these things make when they come at you just makes it the most terrifying creature ever!

I personally really love the HL2 series :3 On tf2 (another valve game) I saw this creature you drew in the water and I was like "wtf?!?" and kept jumping in the water and killing myself just to see it XD
