The middle one is best for sure. It has a strong pose, which feels to me like it befits the character. He seems noble, and I think equestrian garb symbolizes strength and dignity. He also comes off smug, which makes just as much sense. The first one's shyness is out of place, and the third is ambiguous with nothing really striking about it. The check pattern on the second one is very visually arresting as well.

Oh wow, I can see why you had a hard time-- they're all adorable! He looks incredibly dapper in the rightmost, but I'm terribly fond of that green-and-white pattern, and the red jacket's pretty dashing.
