Wow, two submissions in one day.Man, do I ever love cryptids. Creatures that may or may not exist. Such as the chupacabra, bigfoot, or the Loch Ness, to name a few.
I want to get into cryptozoology.
The Chupacabra, translated to "Goat sucker", is often described as a reptilian looking canine with a forked tongue and long spikes sticking out of its spine. It is extremely thin, and has exaggerated claws and teeth. Hairless and can be scaly, it also has eyes that emit a faint red glow.
There is another appearance, alien like creature, but that didn't appeal to me quite as much.
So here's my interpretation of a Chupacabra. I think I leaned a little too much towards that canine side, much to my dismay. But I still like the result.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can add in the background. Its lacking something.
Someone should start a club that is all about cryptozoology. I would join.

I hadn't heard of the Chupacabra until about 30 mintutes before starting the drawing. Me and my sister were playing around on Youtube. We started looking at a preview for a SeaMonster show playing at our Imax, and one thing led to another. I also found a weird looking fish that looked like it had a human face, Nessie, and something called Mothman. X]

Hoshit, must fix that. I guess I had it completely zoomed out when I did them and in broad daylight my computer screen looks cloudy-ish.
Sheesh, looks like my hand had a seizure while doing those..
I'm uh..not an anime person.

I like it : ) When I watched those documentaries, they drilled the alien humanoid with dopey bat wings, slimy skin, and vampire teeth, with the gnarled and nasty wrinkly face, etc etc etc into my head ;_; I never saw it portrayed like this ^^ I like the spines ^^ Really cool night scene!

Hah, funny how people depict things differently than others. One may have one idea, say the more alien looking version of the Chupacabra and one, such as myself, may interpret them to look a little more like I drew it.
As for the trees..my idea was to have the Chupacabra a little higher on the mountainside so I don't think trees would be seen. But its a good suggestion.

Amazing..and i might do just that i love cryptozoology my favorite is definatly the chupacabra im not much for the alien looking idea of it canine makes much more sense to me..more stealthy then this big alien thing walking about.

I agree. When I searched for pictures of the Chupacabra, I came up with a variety of images, most of them different from the next. Some looked completely like an alien, big eyes, big head, and some looked a little more canine and some even feline. Those ones were my favorites. They actually seemed like they could possibly be real.
