Description ...We never know for sure.

I guess this supports my contest that I'm holding.[link]
The contest is based on facing your fears, so I figured that I'd make a deviation themed to it. I've always been freaked out about the ocean, but not really scared. The fact that you don't really know whats down there always makes me uneasy. I don't think I could ever be a scuba diver or anything. Nope.

But before anyone says anything about it, this is not a cheapshot at wolves. I have nothing against them except for the fact that they are becoming extremely overused.

Chyeah..so. I guess its up to you whether that wolf knows he's about to die or not. Hehe.

Ahdamn...I'm forgetting something, I know.

I like the concept you did here. I think that's why most people are scared of the ocean cause it's so damn deep that you can't see the bottom unlike a public pool. I like the light you used above and a bit below the wolf and then it's dark on the mouth of the monster. I also like how careless the wolf looks tooΒ

LuxDani In reply to XerethKingofXzeldari [2010-07-26 19:27:49 +0000 UTC]

Haha I would have done the same thing! Whenever I head off to the tropics for a vacation, I totally freak out in the water. When I was younger my dad and I went snorkling in Florida, but I have crappy vision so I couldn't see very well. My dad tapped me on the shoulder and then told me that there was a meter long barracuda underneath me. Needless to say, I lost it completely and almost knocked my daddy out with my flailing limbs.
Even swimming in the lake is creepy! If anything touches me (fish, weeds, anything) I totally flip. xD

XerethKingofXzeldari In reply to LuxDani [2010-07-27 00:58:38 +0000 UTC]

when my dad was young, he went to the islands (cant remember which) and when he was in the water, a baracuda that was about a meter long was 5 ft from him. he swam off but it kept following him so he wnt into this HUGE school of fish to confuse it but when the fish swam away it was a few inches from his face!! he talked to some people about it and they said that it only followed him cuz it wanted food, it was tame and it turns out u could feed him out of ur hand, his name was George and he was a friendly baracuda!!!! who knew?????

Oh yes, quite. The ocean is the last frontier, I've heard. But the thought of something so unknown and mysterious yet so close to us is thrilling, no? I love the idea.

SaraaLuna In reply to LuxDani [2010-06-04 16:25:16 +0000 UTC]

I find it amusing that people are saying how weird Aliens must look, and are unknown they are when they have animals like the Angler Fish ([link] ) and the Glass Squid ([link] ) living right on their own planet's depths!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to SaraaLuna [2010-06-06 19:15:55 +0000 UTC]

Ooh I know, we've got what seems like aliens living on our own planet. Some are truly bizarre.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SaraaLuna In reply to LuxDani [2010-06-06 19:17:20 +0000 UTC]

Speaking of bizarre, I tried to find a good picture of the Dragon Fish, but I couldn't. That thing has an elastic stomach- literally.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to SaraaLuna [2010-06-06 19:25:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh man, Dragon fish are creepy, can you imagine swimming along and finding one of those? I mean, you'd have to be really deep but holy, I would die of fright.
Ever see a pic of a Gulper Eel? Those are the weirdest looking things ever. They don't look remotely like anything else on this planet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SaraaLuna In reply to LuxDani [2010-06-06 20:25:58 +0000 UTC]

I would probably crap myself and start swimming as fast as possible, though you're right about not being able to go to the that depth. Still, it's just as bad as Jaws, running into a big one of those things.
Gulper Eels have huge mouths- almost like the underwater version of Pacman on drugs. I can't compare them to anything.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to SaraaLuna [2010-06-09 05:17:39 +0000 UTC]

They're definitely strange. First time I saw one of them I was all "whaa? That the hell is that?!" They don't look like anything else on this planet!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SaraaLuna In reply to LuxDani [2010-06-09 18:15:52 +0000 UTC]

My "WTF" was conserved for the Sea cucumber's extremely disturbing relationship with the Pearl Fish. *shudder* Still, Gulper Eels are definitely one of the weirdest fish on the planet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to SaraaLuna [2010-06-09 23:37:01 +0000 UTC]

I have never heard of the relationship between them, but I just researched a little and....what the hell. That is disturbing and just plain weird!
What freaky places the oceans are.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SaraaLuna In reply to LuxDani [2010-06-09 23:51:44 +0000 UTC]

I found out about it by watching a video that was included in a nature documentary. Needless to say, I was thinking exactly what you're saying.
Freaky indeed.

xXCaptainMizukiXx [2010-02-20 20:02:43 +0000 UTC]

Lol! I love wolves, but like you guys said, people are just obsessing! I draw wolf art, and recently I started drawing foxes. :3
Oh, and I totally agree on the ocean part. I really want to learn how to sail, and someday get a yacht, but I'm not keen on getting in the water!XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to xXCaptainMizukiXx [2010-03-01 23:08:56 +0000 UTC]

I've always been one to get a little disgusted when people obsess over things. I can't help it even, it just repulses me after awhile. Like Twilight, for example. I have neither read the books nor seen the movies, but the whole craze about them has totally turned me off from them.
I guess its the same with wolves.
I mean, they're still beautiful creatures, but I get really, really sick of seeing the same thing day in and day out. I like change and uniqueness.

Ooh the ocean! I just recently (like last Thursday) got back from a vacation in the tropics (Dominican to be precise) where I stayed at a resort just on the ocean. I literally FORCED myself to go snorkling, and even then the entire time I was so panicky, I would jump at the slightest thing. The ocean totally unnerves me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xXCaptainMizukiXx In reply to LuxDani [2010-03-01 23:42:44 +0000 UTC]

I know, a lot of people went overboard with the Twilight thing, and it is the exact same thing with wolves. Like you said, I like the animal, but a little change doesn't hurt, no? (btw, speaking of Twilight, during the craze, a lot of people in my school claimed that they were vampires. o.o)

Oh man, if I were in your shoes at that moment I would've been back on the boat in around less than a minute!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LuxDani In reply to xXCaptainMizukiXx [2010-03-02 00:29:46 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad Twilight didn't hit my school like a bus. I heard little about it actually. It was fairly subdued. So it was the internet that really made me sick of it.
Oh god, really? People were claiming they were vampires? Ridiculous. The only thing from my school that has been sorta like that was one girl said she was a vampire killer, but that was only for a joke.

I was actually just off the beach so I just had to swim a little then walk up on land but it still freaked me right out! My dad grabbed my ankle at one point and I totally flipped. xD
