This was a journey for me. Its no secret that I adore the use of metallic leaf in my work, but typically it is the last step, the final detail to seal the deal. But this time I tried something new, and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Metal leaf with thin coloured glazes on top play wonderfully with the light, even in dim lighting they are luminous. Unfortunately its difficult to capture the effect with a single photograph, which is why I will be uploading a short Youtube video where I show off the flashy leaf and talk about this piece and its process.
