Description
Hi there. I present you my tutorial. I thought that the technique of Typography Portrait is quite obvious, but since there are so many people asking about that, it's better to make a tutorial.Pardon my imperfect english.
Enjoy!

you're welcome .. it's nothing to be afraid of, really, it's only about the drill.. and if you know how to use a pen and text tool, and you do, it'll be really simple
you'll see

Looks cool! You really made a cake.
I though it was just a joke, but you did good job there. You see, it's not that hard. Now you're ready for something more difficult.

Lol oh boy...I found it waaay at the back of my gallery. You can see it here.
It's not nearly as advanced as the one you're teaching about in this tutorial, but it wasn't something I ever expected to do in high school

Thanks, you're welcome. Well, you mean how to colorize the text with colors from picture, right? As I said in tutorial, after all text layers are done, hide the background (so you can see only the text layers) and then you make new layer (up above) and use 'Merge visible' (shortcut ctrl + shift + alt + E). Then you got everything into one layer. Then ctrl + click on that merged layer, hide it (it was made only for this purpose), hide every base text layer as well. Then just click on the picture layer (make sure you still have the selection from merged layer) and use ctrl + J = it means duplicate the selection from the picture layer. Then just hide the base portrait picture, make the background visible and you'll see the colours from picture appear in the text. I hope it's what you wanted to explain and I hope you understand it. It's easy.

when you say hide the base portrait picture, and make the background visable, what background are you talking about, I have tried in as many ways as I can think of now, and I still cant get and portrait colour

Well (If we're thinking about the same thing, if not, tell me) then I mean hiding base picture and leaving only (all) text layers visible, so you can merge them (into new layer) and then, by ctrl+click on thubnail of merged layer you get the selection and now you click on the base layer, make it visible and ctrl+j duplicates only the selected area into the new layer. So now when you hide text merged layer and the base picture yet again, you'll see what you need = masked area out of the base picture. Hope I wrote it clear enough and you'll understand.
